This talk is easily the best, organic illustration of what it means to confront the most unpleasant reality of your parents' aging and all that it entails. It should have waaaaay more views! I am the sole caregiver to my 93 year mom, and I thank you so very much for putting into words my feelings 🤗🤗🤗

Parents are Our Parents, they are not our inconvenience & burden. Watch out what we do to them, our kids sees. Remember, if you live long enough, we get to grow old too. It is a privilege to go through their final journey with our parents. May we see it as a privilege, our final gift to them in love & with respect.

My mom died when I was four, leaving me and my two sisters navigating a confusing world. Recently I asked my father why they didn't talk about the after if they knew she would die soon of cancer, he answer me, your mother didn't want to talk about it and I was scared. That silence let my uncles take control of their assets, of our custody and defined our lives horribly. I which they would talk about it.

Fantastic talk on a topic that doesn't get enough attention. At JubileeTV we're all about using familiar technology (the TV!) to make it easier for family caregivers to support their aging loved ones!

I saw your comment...."pay". How in the world? Take out a loan? If you have to leave your job, what would be the alternative? Cause most of the time we are at our wits end to pay it forward for the funerals.

Interesting personal story, but very little practical advice for how to "prepare for the unexpected." Ultimately, this was a waste of my time :(

Why is this a gendered issue?

Think the presenter is very nervous trying to make the talk a bit more interesting/fun? Everyone has their own challenges so this wasn’t relatable at all for me, waste of my time
