Great to see Carl again. He has said that he won’t be getting in a car again and I’m glad because he can’t come back at his age and the length of time away from it and be competitive. It does sound like he will be back in some capacity at sometime but he’s got that sailboat thing to do first.

My father and I fly aerobatic planes with Carl around four times a year and he is a good guy and took to aerobatic flight very well

Huge fan for a long time, until he signed with the Evil Empire, then I had to use my CE merch as, um, rags [to put it mildly]. He burned that bridge long ago, & now that he's out of the sport, I'll say it's good to see he's doing well. And it is easy to forget how physically imposing he is. There's not many motorsports guys built like that. Woah!

I am a huge Carl fan, stiil am, but what made him different just because he switched teams. The cars are all the same anyway. The whole Ford, Chevy, Toyota allegiance is ancient history. He actually did a lot better when he left the dying Roush Fenway team. Isn't being a fan staying with a driver and not the team. It's like Kyle Busch. People hated him and all of a sudden he's better or different because he now drives for RCR. He doesn't get booed nearly as much anymore. He's still the same person. He's better now that he drives a Chevy and not a Toyota? Or was your Evil Empire reference about JGR? Either way, I still don't get it. He's still Carl Edwards. Once a fan, always a fan. Just like Martin Truex Jr.

Except unlike everyone else, he knows what he’s talking about because he did it at a high level for many years. You or me being an “armchair racer” is dumb because have no idea what it’s like to drive 150mph in a 110 degree F car for 3 hours. But he did that every Sunday for more than 10 years. So when he gives advice about to do it good, he has some credibility, whereas you and I have none.
