We're going to do it! Thinking about doing Porchetta as a centerpiece, then we'll have some fun appetizers and sides (bacon-wrapped something, some sort of bread and cheese number, and a token vegetable, at least), and my partner will come up with a fun cocktail! Plus whatever random stuff our friends decide to bring, of course.

I just hosted a party where I made the hand salads, the biscuit bites, and the mocktail. REVIEW: The hand salads were delicious but too wet (go easy on the dressing), the biscuit bites were DIVINE, and the mocktail was heaven sent because I didn't know a couple of my guests were going sober right now. (Instead of Eventides I had a handle of Tito's and some mixers/fixings.) This was such an easy way to prep for a party.

It's so funny talking to friends of all ages. Some show up early and believe that is respectful and expect the same. Others are punctual, again that is respectful and others (milinneals) expect guests to come 15-30 minutes later and do the same out of respect 😅 I myself grew up seeing how frazzled my parents were so I always show up late to give the host time to get ready and take care of last minute fires lol

Wow, definietly wanna try those buiscuits for the New Years Eve party I am throwing at home for myself. LOL, btw where do you buy Gojuchang? Never heard of it, is it like a Korean thing or can I get it in supermarkets?
@callmemolls3646 Жыл бұрын
Gochujang is korean and has become pretty wide spread, at least in my part of the states. You may have luck finding it at your regular grocery store. If not, you should be able to find it at your nearest Asian grocery store and probably online, tbh. It’s a great thing to have on hand! The consistency is thick and it’s strong enough that I don’t really treat it like a sauce on its own, but rather a component that goes into other things. When you buy some, do try a little bit plain on a spoon though so you have a good idea of what it tastes like on its own. For other uses, check out the infamous Eric Kim gochujang caramel cookies and Carla’s broiled salmon bowl. I also like mixing a small dollop in with boxed mac and cheese and topping with toasted panko, a little drizzle of sesame oil, and some scallion greens.
@aphrodisiakon Жыл бұрын
@@callmemolls3646 Thank you so much, definietly gonna try and look for it in my area, I live in a big city so if I won't have any luck, I might visit a local Korean store. I can imagine it being a great addition to some other meals as well.

Ok so first of all, those biscuits sound fit as heck and I will not be hosting a party because I do not want to have to share them with anyone. But seriously, what is up with these unspoken "please show up late" rules for parties? Maybe it's the rejection sensitivity talking, but back when I used to try to host nice little parties with wine and nibbles and what have you, and people would all show up a solid hour late, I'd sit there assuming people just didn't care enough about me to show up on time or let me know they expect to be late, like my event's an afterthought and they don't actually want to be there. Conversely, if you ACTUALLY want guests to show up at 9, why would you put 8 on the invite? Make it make sense 🙃 Anyway my lactose intolerance would hate me for it but MANCHEGO NUGGIES I'm super into it x
