Did the knock off jacket smell like oil decking stain? I recently bought a duffel from that region of the world in November. It smelled so strongly that I hid it in the attic to let it off-gas. Here we are in late April and it still smells like a freshly applied, treated wood stain.

Too many people in Pakistan with leather sewing machines now, haha. There are good garment makers in Pakistan but also lot phony ones cashing in on copies and celebrity themed jackets. I was going to buy the Wolverine leather jacket a few years ago but forgot about it.

That may be true, but I honestly don’t know. To be fair, in the years since that first video I’ve become friendly with Mike, and it just sounds like he’s not very comfortable being on camera. I appreciate that he took the time to do this.
@mikew742 Жыл бұрын
Sadly I’ve fallen victim to buying jackets (normally leather) from what appears a US or UK site, to then have them shipped from Pakistan. The jackets are shocking quality, with a real shit dye job, often smell funny that no amount of airing ever cure, an an almost greasy texture and ultimately they go straight to the charity shop. Returning then is a pain as well, so leather jackets for less than $250 will be this cheap produced crap. A sign, if on the pictures the company also has an elaborate size guide table, that often talks about “sending us your measurements” whilst that may sound like a great service, this is the first red-flag that these are being made in a Karachi sweatshop. Avoid at all costs.

My main issue is like, if youre charging 600 dollars for a jacket, and then on top of that theres a 2 year waiting period, i feel like you dont really get to complain about other companies making cheaper versions of your product. Obviously the die hard ship john fans will still buy the real thing, but when theres something thats super expensive and exceedingly difficult to get your hands on, there are always gonna be companies trying to make the same thing for less. Thats just capitalism. Im not saying intellectual theft isnt a thing or that it isnt the case here, im just saying that having a fairly inaccessible product is gonna cause people to try and make a cheaper more easy-to-get version. But thats just my 2 cents.
@BCRichDraco1990 Жыл бұрын

If you're a welder or work in a forge or something might need all leather, otherwise would be more flexible and all that just to get leather grafted onto key areas or something.
