Carlsbad Jacket and Pant Walkthrough

Four years later, can't help but wonder why they haven't included waist adjustment in their garments. As a slimmer rider, having that feature would've been a game-changer, allowing me to tailor the jacket for a more snug fit without all the unnecessary fabric bunching up around the waist. I'm a proud owner of the Kodiak,and let me tell you, the cut on that thing is impeccable. But here's the kicker - I recently switched from a road bike to an ADV, and I was itching to go back to Klim. However, after trying out their entire lineup, it felt like mission impossible. None of them fit me right; they were all too baggy. And I can't shake off the feeling that I'm not alone in facing this dilemma. Other brands offer waist adjustment as a standard feature, so why not Klim? It's a question that's been nagging at me for a while now. Klim, if you're listening, consider this a plea from a loyal customer. Adding waist adjustment could make all the difference for riders like me who crave that perfect fit.

These videos are a great way to showcase a jacket's features and construction. I have an old Joe Rocket jacket but wanted an upgrade for waterproof construction and storage. The Carlsbad looked like a good possibility when shopping online, but after watching this video, it looks GREAT! It's exactly what I want. Thank you for posting this video.

I'm looking at the jacket and pants like you have on. Now that I know about all the storage space. If you were to fill all the pockets with stuff that you mentioned, would you need to go up a size in the sizing when selecting a size?

Nice video. Just bought one. Dealer said it had level 1 pads so I bought level 2. Came home. Already has level 2.

Will the new Carlsbad zip to the older carlsbad pants? Also can the braces(suspenders) be attached to the trousers?

I wish this iteration of the Carlsbad was available when I was shopping last year. I went with the latitude. But this setup has one feature I think all jackets should have - zippered sleeves. I don’t like gauntlet gloves so I fight with getting my short gloves under the cuffs...so annoying. If I could suggest one more upgrade it would be the use of magnetic closures instead of Velcro.

I´ve the pants and the knee protectors at the lowest position but sit on the bike the protectors are over the leg,they will be over the knee.Any solution? it´s very incomfortable.

I notice that the Hi-Viz Sage pants only go up to size 40 in Regular. Any chance of making a 42 or possibly a 44?

@Klim itching to figure out the sizes of the model and the gear! Been shopping online for weeks and can’t find consistent sizing info. Reviews say sizing is baggy. I love the fit on Lukas in this vid. That’s how I want it to fit!! Would love to get a better idea since I’ve got to order online. Trying to avoid having to buy a few just to try

I have both the jacket and the pants. Jacket is awesome. Pants not so much. They have, good ventilation, solid waterproofing. Top of the line knee armor pocket is sewn in wrong; as a result the armor protects the inside of your knee. When you look at the construction of the garment it’s pretty obvious that the placement is an error. Klim support basically told me that they did this intentionally so they would not correct the issue. If you intend to use separate knee armor these pants will be fine but if you want to use the D30 that comes with the pants you should look somewhere else. The armor placement makes it useless. For a company with a reputation as good as klim's the customer service is horrible.

Hi loved this Carlsbad suit. I'm thinking of getting one however due to my size n height. Just wondering if Klim manufactures smaller size? My height is just 5ft7in with inseam less than 30 and chest size of 36cm

Don't like the way the arm vents go right to the end of the arm. Zipper should stop where that mesh stops. Leaving the jacket arm closed at the end, without the zipper right at the jacket arm end messing with gloves.

I have seen in another video that there are actually 2 zippers on the arm vents, so you can open the vent from the top if you prefer, and keep the wrist closed as it should be.

that long arm zippers are really bad placed! they are scratching my hand and when they are closed become so stiff and make that part of the arm too hard. if I need to push the sleeve a little bit upper is impossible. I have short arms and I need to push the sleeve upper but because is so stiff the end of the zipper is pressing my hands and the zipper become twisted and pressing on my arm. most probably I will go to a tailor to cut 1-2 cm of the end of the zipper and maybe to adjust the wrist because is really annoying
