How did you mount the light onto the gun?

How did you install the MLOK accessories? Did you have to remove the whole heat shield? I can't figure out how to get access to hold back nuts in place. Thanks.

I have been following your build and adding alot of it. My main concern is recoil. It is brutal on this gun using 3 inch mags. Any idea how we can tame this recoil? If anyone has any idea let me know. Thanks

Thanks for watching! I've not used 3" shells, just the 2.75".
@raymondgellenbeck7459
@raymondgellenbeck7459 4 ай бұрын
@@docgsreloading7985 be analytical as to why you are using 3" shells in the first place. if recoil is a factor, stepping down in shell size is one option. these "tactical chokes" claim some recoil reduction by the nature of their porting, but meh. If your boomstick has too much boom, use a shell that makes less boom in the first place.

Hello. Where did you purchase your M-LOK attachment for the lighting system? Thank you. Picking mine up today.
@docgsreloading7985

Thanks for watching! The M-LOK came with the flashlight. It has 2 mounts, a picatinny mount attached to the flashlight out of the box and the M-LOK that is included in the box and is easily exchanged by removing the mounting screw that fits a regular-head screwdriver. Here's the Midway link where I purchased my Surefire flashlight for this shotgun: www.midwayusa.com/product/1022376924?pid=465384

any need for Loctite?
@docgsreloading7985
@docgsreloading7985 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and your question! Nope, no thread locker. Actually, you need to use a light oil on the threads so that it doesn't get locked on from heat and friction (as with any choke tube). I oiled the threads and then just tightened it down by sliding an allen wrench through the holes and going hand (not gorilla) tight.

Can you see through the iron sights where they are now, or does the rear sight need to be back further
@docgsreloading7985
@docgsreloading7985 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I can see the irons just fine as I have them set up. I tested it at the range. Of course, as you know, this isn't a gun I'm using out to 100 yards either.

Can you make a video on how to remove the shell tubes bolts. Pretty sure that's not the right way to say it.

Thanks for watching! Well, I'm not sure what you meant, but here's the video from Smith and Wesson showing how to completely disassemble the shotgun. Maybe this will answer your question: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXvMdqOEap6Id6M

Hi Jeffrey. Sure, here's the link to the EoTech and the Surefire flashlight: EoTech: www.midwayusa.com/product/1008728942?pid=136345 Surefire 500 lumen Scout light: www.midwayusa.com/product/1022376924?pid=465384 As you can see, I did purchase both through Midway USA--as I do a lot of my gun stuff.

Do you notice any difference in felt recoil with that ported choke on it?
@docgsreloading7985
@docgsreloading7985 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching David! I'd have to say no, that I didn't notice any reduction in recoil. I've shot about 300 rounds since I put it on. This choke tube doesn't really have ports that direct the over-pressure in a direction that would help reduce recoil, the ports are more just holes to vent the gasses out so you could put the the tube right against a door lock or hinge for breeching and not damage the gun.

@@docgsreloading7985 gotcha and thanks Doc. I run one on a semi-auto I have and did notice a little bit on that one. Still, I think it's a good idea on the M&P 12, especially if you want to run it with out the vertical foregrip. I ordered one for mine. Love your setup on it. I'm going to do something similar.

@@Davepool_TF-69 Thanks David, yeah, I'm glad I have it on there--it turned out to be very cool. I have thought about trying it without the front foregrip. I'm glad you like my setup--as I know, every one likes their guns set-up just a little differently and it's all just personal preference. I just like to share what I do with viewers. By watching others I find out about new products that I never knew existed! Thanks for your support or my channel!

I have the same shotgun, have you shot it yet? Any issues with this choke tube?
@docgsreloading7985
@docgsreloading7985 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes, it shoots the same as it did before. No issues, and with a variety of (mostly inexpensive) slug and 00-000 shot up to and including target loads that I'm just using to hit paper targets.

What kind of red? Dot are you using?
@docgsreloading7985
@docgsreloading7985 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! That's the EoTech that has a red dot with a circle that has hash marks at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. I love the EoTech brand (made in my home state of Michigan) and have them on just about all my AR's and short-range rifles with or without their 3X or 5X magnifier. They have military contracts so their stuff is bomb proof and they're a closed emitter.

Hi, nice video. Can you confirm which model number Carlson's you used here? Midway lists a Product #: 118581 Manufacturer #: 85004 UPC #: 723189850043 with a .720 constriction available. Is that the same one you used here? Thanks

Thanks for watching! The model number (85004) I have (with a 0.720") that I took directly from the Carlson's website. Here's the link: www.choketube.com/choke-tube-style/remington-12-gauge-tactical-breecher-choke-tubes/ I hope this helps. Let me know of any other questions.
