I love the bullpup shotgun Concept. I'm very excited to see Smith and Wesson create their own bullpup design. Sadly I can't bring myself to purchase one, due to not being able to quad load or use a similar technique. I sold my KSG because I couldn't speed load with it (for a J frame .357 and speed loaders lol). A weapon that I can't speed load, quickly becomes an overpriced club. Thanks for the hard work on this shotgun. Its a very exciting direction for Smith and Wesson! Perhaps the next model will be speed load compatible.

Do you mean a "tactical reload" like on a conventional pump-action, like, say, the Rem. 870? In that case, I can open the action, and pop a shot shell into the ejection port with my support hand, while leaving the shotgun shouldered and pointed at the threat... I'm not sure how something like that can really be done with a bullpup layout shotgun? I guess that's why it has two tube magazines, perhaps?

@@davecarlson1918 I think the tactical reload is a valuable skill, But not what i'm referencing. I think it is well explained and shown here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnnFl4uipc2Vq5I. When practiced you can really reduce loading times, even on most regular shotguns.

@@JohnSmith-hi2ry I see. Fancy! Under duress, rather than competition, I'm not sure too many people could do that... Some of my training is dated, but I drill the way I was trained... In my case, shotgun remains shouldered, pointed at the threat or direction of where the threat is expected, left hand grasps shell with thumb on/near base of the shell's case head, goes up to loading port, and shoves it in... I'm not sure if you couldn't do that quad-load technique with this here Smith and Wesson bullpup? No need to put the stock over your shoulder, just cant it a bit... Or are those buttons above each magazine completely necessary to load the MP12?

@@davecarlson1918 I think the tactical reload you described is a solid way to reload. Especially if that is how you practice. We all sink to the level of our training, right? One of the drawbacks to the quad load is that it requires a special shell holder to be used. I think the tactical reload method is great for a side saddle or pocket full of shells. I find the quad load method requires less fine motor dexterity for myself and works better than a regular handful of shells (4-6 in the hand at once). I keep a shell holder on my rig for when I don't have the time to load shells one at a time. I can always refill the holder from a pouch later. As far as the MP12 goes, the receiver lacks the narrow u shaped frame guiding the rounds. I think would be a source of difficulty. Thats one of the issues I had with the KSG. Also there is not enough room to double stack the shells. The UTS-15 looked like it could do it because of the independent loading ports. I heard there were other problems with it though.

@@JohnSmith-hi2ry I see. I'm thinking the gun could be turned over to access the port... Then again, I'm not sure about how fast the tube magazine could be "topped up" or whether the user/firer/operator would recognize which magazine was which? There is that action cover on the MP12 that can be pulled back to clear a shell, so I wonder if that can be used to maximize space for reloading too? I guess we'll have to wait until someone works out these kinds of details.... For now, first seeing this, I'm inclined to think it is a bit like the self-loading-only P90: You've got the ammunition in the magazine, i.e. 50x5.7mm or in this case, 14+ 2-3/4" shells, no? Or a double action revolver perhaps? "five (or six) for sure" but then you've got to basically disassemble it to reload it--slight exaggeration...

Can I reload on the move, one handed? Meaning can I reload without taking the gun out of the fight. With an 870 I can just keep feeding it shells one at a time with one hand as I’m on the move. Do I have to remove the gun from my shoulder to reload? Do I have to use 2 hands (release my primary hand) in order to reload?

I would say the answer is “probably”. My understanding from another reviewer is that the button makes it easier but isn’t necessarily mandatory it just relieves some tension, so maybe with practice you could?

To be fair if you need more than 15 shotgun shells at once you probably fucked up somewhere along the line lol.

@@augusmarlie Point taken, but you cannot dictate how many bad guys come to the fight. Plus, in the heat of the moment you can miss...even with a shotgun.

This would be a fun range toy, but you nailed the reason it could never be my SD/HD shotgun. I like range toys, but how many Mossberg 500s or Remington 870s could I buy for the price of this thing, right?

Can you guys make a video on how to take off the tube shell bolts? I want to replace them with spikes but cant figure out how to get the bolts out.

This will sell sooo well in blue states. I promise! A reliable KSG is the best you can have there. If this is reliable, then I'm in, extra cost be damned.
