Save your money and buy a 2007 Subaru STI Wagon, put a lift kit on it, off road tires, and you've got yourself a proper cross-country, Dakar capable cruiser, with 5 times the storage, along with a full size spare wheel & tire, unlike that beetle looking porsche that does not come with a spare, and, you still be saving £150,000.00 which means, you still will be leaving in your house that you bought with the £150,000.00 that you saved! 😅

Brilliant achievement from Porsche and as expected it does everything it’s designed to do and well, but would you actually want to take it regularly into such a hostile environment? For those lucky enough to have bought one well they are no doubt rich enough to not care. Me! Even if I was rich enough to own one I still wouldn’t want to take such a limited edition master piece off road which is silly I know but understandable because the car enthusiast and purist in me says a Porsche 911 just shouldn’t be used in that way and it would kind of break my heart when and not if such a magnificent machine succumbed to serious damage. Therefore great as this car is it really is totally irrelevant to me even if it isn’t to others. I’m sure glad Porsche had the balls to create it though. 😁

Car and this reviewer miss a fundamental "raison d'être" of this model. On a narrow country land, with grass verges either side before ditches, a 992 GT3 would bounce out of the drivers hand or if the Cup 2's touched wet grass spin into that ditch. This model is clearly able to continue, without lifting, maintaining speed and delivering maximum driver engagement and reward. Presumably, this model is less bothered by speed bumps and can also mount high kerbs to park on city grass verges!

Another example of Porsche's loss of direction: porky SUVs, electro trash and now this before the Boxster/Cayman duo get VolksWandalised when this company finally drops a battery from the sky in their chassis...so yes there is worse yet to come...For now they have given this 911 Drakdreadful car...a cromossic anomaly of car... and please Car don't come up selling me this Dakar rubbish thing as you just lose credibility - yes I can imagine Porsche PR machine and all their attention to the press... suck the marketing hype: the heritage of this company is in tarmac and endurance racing to which it decided to turn its back for far too long. Porsche: please look up and you will see Ferrari sitting high up: just follow the leaders and stop making rubbish. You lose heritage, you lose credit, you lose prestige and you lose custom...

Did you get run over by a Porsche or what makes you trashtalk that brand so much? If they really were this bad, why are they the most successful sportscar brand? And what makes you call the Taycan 'electro trash' when it is not only praised, but also just passed 100,000 sales? Are all these customers wrong? And what kind of 'loss of direction'? Porsche always had an 'if it is possible, then do it' mentality, and so they made the Dakar to prove a point. And where is Ferrari sitting high up? Sure, I too like thier current products, but 1) the latest Ferraris are the most controversial models in recent history, so it's not all rosy and 2) Ferraris reputation has absolutely tanked with their comedy show of complete incompetence in Formula 1. THAT makes you lose customers 100%.
