Same in central VA. I drive through a stretch with over a dozen different brands on the way from my house to cabin and they are all the same. They won't budge on the prices, even with 2025s having been out for several months and rows and rows of 2024s collecting dust. Everyone got greedy during COVID and they refuse to allow the market to return to normal. EV or ICE, a compact CUV shouldn't cost $40k and a basic family hauler shouldn't be $60k.

EVs particularly don't make sense in Canada until and unless they can come up with a battery that isn't affected so much by low temperatures. But this is unlikely since all electrochemical reactions are very temperature dependent.

You clearly don't understand how a credit works. The buyer gets their tax liability reduced. It's one of the few ways that the poor and middle class can pay closer to the nearly zero taxes paid by millionaires and billionaires. Instead of focusing on a credit that helps the poor..go focus on getting rich people to pay their fair share and it will more than pay for the credit you have decided to complain against.

@@na2305 I agree, legacy auto should be allowed to fail without a bailout when Chinese EVs crush them. The global economy has made its decision and it isn't ICE. Everywhere China has exported to has had overwhelming sales that allow them economies of scale to set prices incredibly low for what you get. US auto has already lost and you think it matters that you want an ICE. It is a dead technology and failure to see that is what ultimately killed US leadership in the sector. Only now have US auto CEOs woken up to the reality of how far behind they are. Elon is trying to speed up its demise because Tesla will survive. If legacy auto has a chance at survival it is through an immediate pivot to EVs at a scale to make them affordable and competitive with China. If you are so worried about people not paying their fair share, why not focus on the people paying no taxes or far less as a percentage of their income. Get a single billionaire to pay the same percentage as the majority of Americans and it would fund the credit on its own. If you don't want the credit, don't apply for it. There is far too much greed in the auto industry currently. They looked around during COVID and realized people were willing to pay $10k more out of desperation so they added that much to every model. And dealers refusing to allow their cut to return to normal are making it even worse. People need to stop buying new cars for a year or two to remind them who holds the purse strings. Let lots fill with unsellable models and demand a return to rational prices and better quality. Even traditionally good brands like Honda and Toyota are turning to crap due to cost cutting that isn't passed along to the consumer. We're still paying top dollar for bottom of the barrel products.

Hyundai, and all other Electric Vehicle's. Replace the whole battery 🔋 Packs, and not portions of it like a Tesla service Technicians. With Hyundai Ionic they don't honor warranty if damaged occurs, and Insurance totals it. In YT there was UBER drivers who replaced the Tesla's within 2 year's. Just before 100,000 miles. They regret the 3rd year of ownership and still making payments on it, for 2 extra years. With possible replacement of $25,000 battery cost $8,900 & tech labour's is always 90% of the cost. 2 battery replacement means waste, damaging the Environment including Water Resources 💧. There were 4 Recycling ♻️ Centers in the United States. Note none are in California, due to Environmental Impact. Now only 1 is in operation. This year 2 burned down in March Phoenix Arizona, November Missouri, with 202p Illinois facilities burned twice. Hard to believe 1 Electric Vehicle is more Toxic to the Environment than all V8's ever made combined. Don't believe me look up : " Missouri Lithium Recycling Plant Explosion - Analysis " it shows dead Fish 🐟. Reasons : Reasons Fire crews dousing water in to fire's to maintain area cool as Lithium burned out. For 10 days the crews Sprayed the Granulated Minerals into Creeks, Rivers, and Lakes . Environmental assessment dead fish 🐟, and well and Faucet Tap Water was Polluted to where boiling won't purify the Water. I would say that cleaning air, has been to the best it will ever get. I still have not heard a satisfactory answer to the question: If a self driving car causes an accident, who is responsible? ie who PAYS? Maybe a viewer has the answer? Will this increase everyone's insurance premiums- probably. How do you prove the OTHER CAR had a transient malfunction of sensor, camera or whatever? As for EVs, let the rich folk buy them on their own. As for hybrids- why? Duplicate systems are generally a poor substitute for reliability from an engineering standpoint. END the WEF meddling, that what is driving all of this, pun intended.

No. Hybrids are junk. Let's compare two super cars. The C8 corvette is naturally aspirated and has a v8 with 495 horsepower. Goes from zero to sixty in about 2.8 seconds. The Lamborghini Temerario is a hybrid, with twin turbo v8 producing about 960 horsepower. It can go from zero to sixty in 2.8 seconds. So, due to the extra weight of the battery and motors for the electric part, the car needs to almost double the horsepower to get the same performance that a simple na v8 can do. Hybrids are junk.

The tax credits need to go there are 2 ways manufacturers can make ev's and get around not needing tax credits first way is to make affordable ev's first then reinvest the money they make into other more expensive models of the lineup and the 2nd way is to have two auto makers cocreate ev vehicles and split the research and development costs between the two manufacturers therefore they are able to sell to the customer at a cheaper price

The oldest electric car still on the road has had its engine replaced 14 times and has had 37 battery replacements and it was made in 2012. Its 12 years old and its had its engine replaced 14 times and its battery replaced 37 times. Electric vehicles haven't gotten any better well not much. You basically get 4 to 8 months per battery and 8 to 14 months per electric engine. Lets talk about if it was a gas vehicle. Imagine having to replace the gas tank every 4 to 8 months and replacing the entire engine and everything under the hood of a car every year. Moronic right? lets look at gas vehicles for example. Gas cars made in 1800s have never had to replace vital parts of a car like the engine. In a gas vehicle replacing the engine means the entire vehicle is classified as toddled. Replacing a gas tank is not ever done ever in gas vehicles. Imagine telling someone oh you see that vital part of the vehicle that never needs replacing and we don't make replacement parts for it because making a replacement part like that means blatantly that the vehicle is dead and you should get a new one yea we are making these disposable. There are 3 main parts of a vehicle: 1: The engine and every thing under the hood, 2: the gas tank and everything under the body, 3: the body of the car including wheels. Now imagine someone tells you 2 of the 3 most vital parts of the vehicle are disposable items that you need to change like how you change a coffee filter when making a cup of coffee. How stupid does someone have to be to think this shit is good at all? Hell also here is a stupid fact. The electric vehicle engine is 98% plastic made from gasoline, 93% of the battery is made of plastic made from gasoline. Frames of electric vehicles don't have metal roofs because making a metal roof would put too much weight on the room and cause these unbalanced big go carts to flip over which the weight is mostly in the battery which would kill the person inside the vehicle. So turns out Electric vehicles are extremely dangerous and they have 0% chance of living if they flip at all.

I'm all for EVs being part of the power mix in automobiles and trucks. However, I believe market forces and not government mandates need to be the deciding factor on the percentage mix. Toyota's smart move was not giving people a gas version of the Prius to compare to. Honda made it easy, Civic hybrid vs Civic gas only. Not such a great deal. An issue of the Reading (PA) Eagle had a column by one their staff who *loved* her Civic hybrid except she was angry the tire store put the wrong tires on it & she lost 10 mpg. Emailed telling her she should be angry she paid 4 or 5 grand for a set of special tires 'cause now she was getting the same mpg as the gas only car😆. Didn't hear back.

If hybrids are the future, somebody is going to have to create a new battery that .1) Doesn't require hundreds of tons of material refines to obtain a few pounds of needed metal .2) invent a battery that does not self ignite by spontaneous combustion. Those two requirements don't currently exist and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them bc there's this little issue of physics involved, properties of known elements etc.
