Let lots fill with unsellable models and demand a return to rational prices and better quality. @@northdakotaham1752 That "spontaneously combust" idea is somewhat of a myth. It's rare in EVs and certainly not unheard of in gasoline powered cars, some of which have been recalled for this problem. (NHTSA 2023: "Owners of the approximately 1.64 million select Hyundai and Genesis vehicles listed below should park their vehicles outside and away from homes until their vehicles have been repaired, due to a new recall for the risk of fire.")

If they get rid of mandates to end gas and diesel cars by 2030-2035, that is much more important than the argument about incentives to buy EV's. But they should get rid of both of them,,,,,,,,,,

Why are self driving cars only EVs? Why can’t gas cars be autonomous? I don’t understand why it’s mutually exclusive based on powertrain.
@justinjones68103 күн бұрын
The tax credits need to go there are 2 ways manufacturers can make ev's and get around not needing tax credits first way is to make affordable ev's first then reinvest the money they make into other more expensive models of the lineup and the 2nd way is to have two auto makers cocreate ev vehicles and split the research and development costs between the two manufacturers therefore they are able to sell to the customer at a cheaper price

The oldest electric car still on the road has had its engine replaced 14 times and has had 37 battery replacements and it was made in 2012. Its 12 years old and its had its engine replaced 14 times and its battery replaced 37 times. Electric vehicles haven't gotten any better well not much. You basically get 4 to 8 months per battery and 8 to 14 months per electric engine. Lets talk about if it was a gas vehicle. Imagine having to replace the gas tank every 4 to 8 months and replacing the entire engine and everything under the hood of a car every year. Moronic right? lets look at gas vehicles for example. Gas cars made in 1800s have never had to replace vital parts of a car like the engine. In a gas vehicle replacing the engine means the entire vehicle is classified as toddled. Replacing a gas tank is not ever done ever in gas vehicles. Imagine telling someone oh you see that vital part of the vehicle that never needs replacing and we don't make replacement parts for it because making a replacement part like that means blatantly that the vehicle is dead and you should get a new one yea we are making these disposable. There are 3 main parts of a vehicle: 1: The engine and every thing under the hood, 2: the gas tank and everything under the body, 3: the body of the car including wheels. Now imagine someone tells you 2 of the 3 most vital parts of the vehicle are disposable items that you need to change like how you change a coffee filter when making a cup of coffee. How stupid does someone have to be to think this shit is good at all? Hell also here is a stupid fact. The electric vehicle engine is 98% plastic made from gasoline, 93% of the battery is made of plastic made from gasoline. Frames of electric vehicles don't have metal roofs because making a metal roof would put too much weight on the room and cause these unbalanced big go carts to flip over which the weight is mostly in the battery which would kill the person inside the vehicle. So turns out Electric vehicles are extremely dangerous and they have 0% chance of living if they flip at all.

I'm all for EVs being part of the power mix in automobiles and trucks. However, I believe market forces and not government mandates need to be the deciding factor on the percentage mix. Toyota made the smart move going hybrids first and allowing a market shake-out before going all-in on EVs. A dominant EV market probably won't be a reality until around 2050, if ever.
@leepowell67543 күн бұрын
Toyota's smart move was not giving people a gas version of the Prius to compare to. Honda made it easy, Civic hybrid vs Civic gas only. Not such a great deal. An issue of the Reading (PA) Eagle had a column by one their staff who *loved* her Civic hybrid except she was angry the tire store put the wrong tires on it & she lost 10 mpg. Emailed telling her she should be angry she paid 4 or 5 grand for a set of special tires 'cause now she was getting the same mpg as the gas only car😆. Didn't hear back.
@northdakotaham17523 күн бұрын
If hybrids are the future, somebody is going to have to create a new battery that .1) Doesn't require hundreds of tons of material refines to obtain a few pounds of needed metal .2) invent a battery that does not self ignite by spontaneous combustion. Those two requirements don't currently exist and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them bc there's this little issue of physics involved, properties of known elements etc.
