The George Karl vs. Carmelo Anthony drama is weird, but is it also sad? Then, Lucy and Jess have takes on what Dan keeps referring to as the "College Football Measurement System," the crew gets over their post-football sadness with more CFB business talk, and a very current and not-at-all-dated legal issue between Burger King and Hungry Jack's. Plus, Amin cares about basketball and explains why All-Star Weekend may actually be an issue for Adam Silver and the NBA.

Burger King is called Hungry Jack's in Australia because an unaffiliated chain already held the trademark for Burger King. Burger King eventually claimed the lapsed trademark for Burger King and opened some actual Burger Kings, but now those restaurants are also called Hungry Jack's.

Dan, Jessica and Lucy thinking Michigan wasnt a legitimate champion STILL just shows how petty and miserable they are. Again, Michigan did not cheat its way to a champion because there is no definitive proof that correlates sign stealing with tangibles outcomes on the field that led to them winning more games that not. Mike's the only one on this show that has actually given props to Michigan for winning. Give it a rest please.

Melo abandoned Denver. The # 15 was already worn by someone between Melo and God, er I mean Jokic. It is not a comparison. Melo doesn't really care. He was baited into saying it was petty by the Nuggets by the other guy on the podcast. George Karl is a complete A-🕳️!!! But has nothing to do with the number issue. Denver fired him after he won coach of the year. Cuz that's how we roll in D-Town. Carmelo Anthony is also the most underrated and complete scorer of his era. I loved watching that Dude in Denver. Jokic is an even better scorer, plus He is the greatest passer the Association has ever seen. A 7' hybrid of Larry & Magic.

I like how Dan acts so appalled about Michigan scouting scandal and in his words “cheated its way to a championship”. Another example of Dan being a hypocrite.

Dan let whitty and Mike sway his opinion on soccer. Messi hasn't done anything in the Spanish league or the French league in years. And the media loves messi. Messi robbed Lewandowski and halaand of the player of the year awards. Mbappe had a better world cup the year he won the world cup they didn't give him the award. Ronaldo was having more success in Spain then messi and now Mbappe and halaand are the best players in the world. Dan is in Miami so he feels the messi buzz. You don't think the same thing is happening in Saudi with Ronaldo.

Its kind of disingenuous to say college players arent getting paid based on their play and only because of brand deals. The colleges just passed off the responsibility of payment because they didnt want to figure how to pay them fairly or take away from their profits.

This is such a bad take on the Nuggets/Melo situation. It was not the Nuggets who made it dirty it was him by leaking out that he'd only play for 2 or 3 teams if traded and that he wouldn't resign if he didn't go. So the nuggets sent him to NY like he wanted and happened to get great assets before the trade deadline the year he requested it. In addition, he left in 2011 but in 2013-14 Anthony Randolph wore #15 and when Jokic was drafted he chose the number (which he didn't officially play in til 2016) because it was the number he had worn his whole career in Serbia. To say it was spiteful for the Nuggets to not retire a jersey number for someone who demands to leave the organization is laughable.
@themediumprofessor
@themediumprofessor 7 ай бұрын
just further proof that they had zero respect for Melo: I loved Anthony Randolph as a prospect but he wasn't remotely a sure thing at any point. In fairness to the Nuggets, they probably had little expectation that they would retire Melo's number because, let's be honest, he didn't do nearly enough of anything to get his number retired in Denver. I'm not even sure he gets 7 retired in the Garden tbh

Ronaldo is better. Everyone is making this claim because of the 2022 world up win in which Argentina was awarded 5 penalties (most ever in any tournament) and had 2 penalty shoot outs. They were awarded a penalty in the quarter finals, semi finals, and the finals. They were very, very lucky. And that world cup win doesn't give Messi "the edge".
