This is great, I just found my 98 Eclipse in a barn of a buddy of mine & he just gave it to me since he has no use for it anymore. Can't wait to tow back to the house in a month or so; so can get started on the restoration process. This would be my first ever build & I'm so excited :)

I had a 2g 420A many years ago. From 2001 til 2004.... I wish you were around that time, it would of motivated me to build mine. I ended up settling for a srt-4 after. However from time to time I still check out 420a's... Good Work, Very impressive! Good Luck with your build!

It sounded very intimidating on idle. :) This would be an awesome thing to do but since I know nothing much past body and electric, someone else would have to do mine. Head was rebuilt ~6 years ago so it's a start. Pity this engine was even considered for the US market. -_-

hey man . hello from Latvia :)) im 32y old with 3 kids . and finally i can try some project cars. i dreamed about eclipse since was little kid . now i will finally get it for summer but in winter i wanna rebuild engine (put on some nice turbo) . can u pls link or in some other way tell which parts stayed original and which did u buy new. :)). meybee u even can shopw me where did u drill hole for oil supply for turbo :)) wish you luck with others cars !!! ;)

Hey man, Thats cool you got the car you wanted. Ma I replaced everything internally and externally have intake manifold OEM. Everything else is aftermarket. I have a whole playlist about building the eclipse. The link is below. Didn't drill for the oil feed. I got a T block and added the oil pressure sender on one side and the oil feed on the other. I use a speedyEFI ECU. I tune using an app called TunerStudio.

I have a gs but I’m looking to switch to a gst this week for more power from what I know the gst can take more power right?

Yes Thats right. GST has a 4g63 engine and it's better than the 420a you and I have.
