i am in south korea currently and this is the scariest, and best, zombie virus movie ive ever seen. It made it terrifying thinking this could happen in my area someday. Korea is INCREDIBLY small with no firearms to the public. it would be an absolute disaster if this ever happened. We have our military bases here but they would totally get overrun with it spreading this fast.

To everybody wondering heres the entire seoul station - train to busan - penninsula timeline: the virus has started at ys biotech, infecting a ran over deer and many wildlife, the deer then bites the 2 starters of the out break patient 0, and 1 both of which caused the outbreak in the city of seoul and the infamous train respectively, seoul station is neither a sequel or prequel of train to busan as rather its events happen alongside train to busan as while seok woo and his daughter su-an are on the train, seoul goes into complete and utter chaos. I dont no the events of penninsula so far as it still isnt released it is said to take place in south korea 4 years after the faithful train.

Seok woo and Su-An made it to Seoul station while it was nighttime, just before the outbreak occurred here in Seoul station, su-an catches sa glimpse of people dying because of the zombies, by this time Seoul station should be starting. Peninsula happens a day after in a different part in South Korea, as a military man is driving his sister, nephew and brother in law to a ship that is about to sail off to Hong-Kong. And infected man gets in the ship and infects the man’s nephew and sister and only the brother in law and the main character are left along with a lot of other survivors who weren’t in the cabin.

Well, you have to realize that at the beginning, most of the infected were homeless people from the subway as they were the most susceptible. There were a lot of homeless in the subways. As stations usually have many exit points, it's reasonable to have a large amount of people infected in minutes.

All I’m saying is that the least they could do is actually *show* the infection beginning to spread, just showing the old man’s first victims turning and them infecting others to at least say “oh, this is gonna escalate quickly” instead of the next scene they appear in being literal tsunamis of zombies like “holy shit where did these guys come from?” I guess it does show that the virus is a force to be reckoned with, but it still peeves me off when zombie movies go from warning signs to full on outbreaks without some kind of transition like 2004’s dawn of the dead, that’s why train to busan’s outbreak scene was so good (and the plane scene from WWZ, if you don’t mind dramatically shaky camera shots, and there’s another good outbreak scene in block Z)

Really enjoyed this animated prequel to Train to Busan but i think the girl getting infected via a scratch while an uncommon form of Zombie infection thats utilized in other media (28 days, Cooties, that one 16 zombie special) is a bit of an unintentional plot hole for the actual film and its sequel Penninsula I mean there are scenes where the characters get bruised and scratched thanks to the undead especially in penninsula which should’ve caused someone to turn without being bit.

no plot hole at all imo. it is completely reasonable that the infection would spread through something like that, since the zombie scratching her could've had infected tissue or blood under its nails. while a bite with lots of blood and saliva involved would spread the infection faster, an infection via scratch would take longer, especially if it's at the foot. so infection via deep enough scratches (which was the case here) is neither a plot hole nor as uncommon than you think in zombie media in general. also every story delivers its plot differently, even if you have prequels and sequels, the rules always slightly change and some people just have plot armor.

Not like I wanted the bad guy to survive after what he did but, jeez, he's been dealing with zombies easily throughout the whole movie and one female zombie was enough to kill him? She didn't even catch him off guard either, he saw her reanimate before his eyes and commented on it. Either way the characters were so unlikable except the homeless guy and the whole pimp money storyline felt like a dumb excuse for a plot. This whole movie felt like a shitty cash grab just to capitalize on Train to Busan's success tbh.

In fact, I love villains like Jack Torrance from The Shining or the T1000 from Terminator 2 because they're evil and WELL WRITTEN. I just found the Seoul station characters so boring and badly written and just not interesting in the slightest. It's like when you make a character but all he does is donate to children's hospitals. Sure it's an admirable thing to do, but if the character's whole personality is solely gonna be that, he's gonna be a bad character. Get my point?
