My first experience with brutal acceleration was as a child, in the back seat of a full steel, street bodied 1969 Charger 440-6 that could pull the nose and do sub-12 second quarter mile runs. You know "brutal acceleration" when you feel it. Some of those vids, you could feel it.

That's with any car. Think of this, when you have a fan that's on low do you hear it? Maybe just a bit aka Car being idle (low speed). But the faster it gets the louder it is (picking up speed). The same concept is with an engine. The faster the motor rotates the louder it gets.
