I digest dairy perfectly fine and I find it's a perfect "snack" to get over carb cravings .. a glass of milk in the evening fills me enough to not crave any chocolate or so, The carbs in milk are also quite low, 47 carbs in 1 litre of milk, so nothing that bothers me at all. Milk tastes fantastic and makes me feel great! I love milk and see no reason to stop drinking it.

Original and traditional kefir were/are made from raw milk (horse milk, to be exact). The kefir grains (like a scoby but more granular) develop naturally in raw milk if it's left to sit too long, and can then be used as a starter for subsequent batches. They can also be used with pasteurized milk, but it will take them time to acclimate to the nature of pasteurized milk. Same thing if switching back from pasteurized to raw. The grains need time to adjust, because the milk is qualitiatively different after pasteurization.

Another point that wasn't mentioned is - some people that still produce lactase after childhood, also very likely have genes that downregulate calcium absorption. Khm, I agree mostly, but cheese (not milk of course or heavy/sour cream) will make me immediately satiated. It is top food with high protein and fat at the same time content. One of the most satiating. Most hard cheeses have zero carbs or close to. Main and only problem I see with cheese that is very constipating (casomorphins and that).
@littlepotato2741Ай бұрын
I love dairy. Cheese, heavy cream, sour cream, greek yogurt, butter. And casien protein powder since I eat 2MAD and that helps slow the digestive process down a little so my protein synthesis will have time to actually get to all the protein I eat. I'm not carnivore, but I do eat a low carb diet. I think one of the keys is to understand that much of dairy is very fat heavy and it's easy add too much. We've all seen or experienced the equivalent of having a healthy food with too much sauce on top of it. I actually eat a lot of dairy. Mostly via cilbir (herbed greek yogurt with poached eggs on top and melted butter/herbs poured over top) and possets (dessert made using heavy cream, sugar (I use allulose), flavorings, and acid to denature the casein to cause it to form a soft custard-like consistency when cold.) Butter for cooking. Cheese rarely for some extra flavor. There are two main types of casein in animal dairy: type A1 and type A2. Type a1 was a biological defect that happened in european cows. Type a1 will convert to casomorphin. If you find yourself particular susceptible to that, switch to another animal like goats/sheep/etc or look specifically for A2 dairy products as some herds use non-european cows so they dont' have A1. Most dairy out there will be a mix of A1 and A2 due to cross breeding over a long period of time.

Why do you assume all carnivores are looking for the same results? Not everyone is trying to loose weight. In fact I am trying to grow at least ten pounds of muscle per year and I am 57 years old. Before RAW milk I was stuck. 180 lbs was all I could get too because my body was using all my food to turn into carbs through gluconeogenesys. Pasturized milk makes me SICK! But I found a farmer and i drink from the same two cows every week to the tune of 4-5 gallons per week. This has allowed for me to make INSANE gains and maintain my 12% body fat. Grass fed free range cows produce milk that is second only to breast milk as far as nutrition goes. If you are still fat and trying to loose weight then dairy is not for you. But if you are metabolicaly healthy Raw grass fed milk is a powerhouse. Game changer. I wouldn't feed pasturized milk to anything. Its a dead product. Animal carbs vs plant carbs. One is bioavailable packed with vitamins and probiotics. The other provides antinutriants that are just not found in milk. You aint gonna overdose on milk sugars but you surely can over do it eating plant sugars AND for every gram of plant matter you eat you need 3 grams of water to digest it. Milk carbs come packaged in protien,fat and water with tons of electrolytes. Pasteurized milk is garbage.

High fat yogurt Grass fed, is also excellent, just eat recommended amounts on labels as well, you will not gain weight by doing so, if becoming addicted and wanting more after you have eaten, that is a personal weakness a person has and that is something that individuals must work on if they want to consume these foods either you’re lazy in mind and don’t really care about your goals and use cravings as an excuse, challenge yourself go ahead and eat don’t feel restricted by this video have moderate amounts and you will be absolutely fine!

False assumption, that only lactase enzyme can break down lactose sugar. It's also possible with gut microbiome. You don't need any lactase production, if you condition your gut microbiome, which is the case with many populations that have gene mutations which don't allow them to produce lactase.

Calcium is also taking from places it shouldnt be, such as places like arterial plaque. Yes this seems to happen and i can imagine your body would start in places like this before your bones. The human body is highly intelligent. So while i agree calcium will be taken from bones, it will start in more important places first. Also your bones are 80-85% protein. So calcium plays such a tiny role that you are better off not worrying about it. I only get my calcium from small amount of raw milk kefir
@YeshuaKingMessiahАй бұрын
I make my own 24 hr cultured kefir too but can’t find raw milk, let alone goat milk which solve many of CAFO milk’s problems, even w/o being pastured. It’s so frustrating I DO worry about calcium bone loss as I’m menopausal and don’t want to stand up some day and break a few discs in my spine!

Thanks, Max. I always enjoy your videos. My first month on carnivore I was using cream and stevia in my morning coffee. When I quit coffee (and the stevia and cream), I lost more weight. I'm nine months into carnivore and feel great, my clothing is much looser, but I am disappointed that I'm not losing more weight now. I still have quite a bit to lose, but have been stalled for almost two months. I don't cheat on the program, I eat one meal every evening and have even cut back portion size. I will stick to the program for the other benefits I've achieved, but don't know what to do at this point to continue the weight loss.

@scotts.2887 Have you ever heard of or tried dry fasting? It might be the thing that breaks your plateau. It’s no food, no water. It uses the metabolized clean water already in your body and incinerates fat 3-4x faster than water fasting and cleans up folded proteins and junk in your system to knock out more inflammation. It could be just the thing to kickstart you into more weight loss.

Hi. Depending on the state of health at the time one begins carnivore, weight loss could be secondary to the body doing the major healing first. Many people experience a stall, and then suddenly the pounds drop off. A year isn't that long, and you're almost there. Hang in there, don't worry, and have faith in the outcomes you desire. 80% of health is in our heads, meaning beliefs, attitudes, and expectations. Also, taking the initiative, and using your will to do do something to help yourself. Sounds to me that you're on top of all that, and winning. Job's a good'un!

Moreover, I'd argue that modern farmed meat is not the same as meat of wild animals from cavemen times. It's being bred for certain characteristics, like high saturated fat content. The only meat which is remotely close to cavemen times is wild fish.

@DrOlegKulikovАй бұрын
Nonsense. I am 67 and live on milk and yogurt with liver pate and minced meat prepared according to the Sous Vide technique. Lactose is beneficial for all humans. Some people are allergic to casein in cow milk but fermentation alleviates the symptoms. Also, in this case, whey protein has to be supplemented in doses of 30g or more per day. When young people, who have no or very limited experience of working in science and have no idea what it is to get older, try to provide advice to the elderly, their goal is not longevity but own profits. Follow their advice if you cannot think critically yourself. BTW, the strict carnivore diet is shortening the lifespan. Large carnivores live much shorter lives than ruminants they are praying on. And it is so also for Maasai people who are on the strict carnivore diet but live only to 55-60 years of age.

@DrOlegKulikovАй бұрын
@YeshuaKingMessiah I am following a modified carnivore diet with no fruits, veggies, sugar, seeds, grains, vegetable oils. Yet lactose in milk and glycogen in liver are okey. It's good to be a tiger or lion - strong and good looking. But all large carnivores live about 3 times shorter than ruminants of compatible size. Why? And what should people do to extend their longevity 10-20 times? I explain it all on my KZbin channel. It's not easy but affordable for anyone.

Your osteoporosis theory really shows that you don't understand how physiology of human body works. There's no link between consumption of dairy/calcium and prevention of osteoporosis. The only link is found between consumption of protein, vitamin D and magnesium (which by the way, magnesium is in antagonistic relationship with calcium, and that means too much calcium can increase its deficiency, leading to symptoms of osteoporosis). And there are epidemiological studies which prove that society with high dairy/calcium intake developed higher rate of osteoporosis, probably because of calcium/magnesium antagonism.

Logical fallacies abound. Cows milk is "not designed for us." Okay. First off, you presume a designer in the food chain space. Same one for all religions? Maybe only thr carnivore religion. Slippery slope at best. Or maybe you just meant that the momma cow had someone in mind and it wasn't a human. So what's an ideal carnivore food that was "designed" for us, Max? Ribeye? Pork belly? Poultry eggs? Butter? Think a little bit here and you realize what a weak argument this is. What would it mean to "protect against allergy?" Something which, in the presence of an allergen, blocks the body's allergic response? How many logic flaws can the reader find in this claim?
