I lobe coffee, I have a very expensive espresso machine that makes the best coffee I've ever had, but I quit coffee months ago and I feel so much better now, my mental health has improved dramatically with cutting out all caffeine. If you suffer from anxiety or ptsd, I highly recommend zero caffeine.

@@carlwatts1230 Just my 2 cents' worth, but I have given up coffee several times to see how it affects me. I don't really notice a difference. I did switch to decaf in case the caffeine is problematic, but I never drank coffee for a rush anyway, I just love the taste. Especially in winter, I see no reason to eliminate a delicious hot beverage. I know some people say they feel better without it, but maybe decaf isn't in the same category as regular. 🤷🏼‍♀️

59 yr old 3+ yr carnivore 5’11”175-180 lbs no and back to my prime weight of my 20d 30s early 40s and just feel insane no more joint pains mental clarity etc... Huge espresso nut like commercial machines in the house Drinking about 2-3 double a day about 30 yrs I tried to quit before typical withdrawal headache cravings etc...did not really notice anything ? then again at the 1yr into carnivore I did still drink coffee but quite strict besides that stopped for a week but again headache could not quit just to much withdrawal issues and also again did not notice anything ? Listening to chaffee and just wanting the next step at 2yr mark I said OK lets do this again and I do not know if its just far enough into carnivore and healing etc... but I got up the next morning and had no craving ? No headache ? No withdrawal feeling and no craving or missing it I did miss the morning ritual of making the coffee but I was like HUH so confused how could this be ! The next day again no wanting it no craving no headache and here I am 3+ yr mark This time I did start to notice even a higher feeling of clarity and a better sleep pattern so WOW 2yrs in this time I did notice ? Now did it just take that much healing ? I say test it if you still drink it every yr and really quit for a month and see what happens when you start up again ! I do think some of this other stuff comes in way later after your body is really into this WOE ? But sure we all are different just sharing :) I did at 1 month in have a coffee to see what I thought and yeah was not like I remember and kinda noticed a odd sinus feeling and did not like it 2 months in had another and again hard histamine feeling and 3 months two sips threw the rest down the drain ! I had no plan on starting again but I do like to test and see what the effect was and yeah huge negative Well last month around the 3yr mark I decided to try a cold brew coffee my wife still drinks (home made) with some cream and WOW really hit me huge negative ! I a done testing its worth quitting ! Will it be easier like me at some point along the way with no issue ? No idea I can say glad to be done and sure you have memories but when you taste and feel its strange as the memory is possitive but the effect is negative ! Its a odd thing but it does make you realize NO MORE

@TheNaturalHealthBlogger

Well its a diet composed entirely out of some of the most caloric protein/fat dense foods going You aren't meant to form an entire diet out of just meat/animal foods and not balancing it off with any low calorie, high volume, high fiber whole plant foods Recipe for disaster for weight loss. It only works for some because many of these carnivores are coming from extremely hypercaloric western processed junk food diets, often 3000-5000+ calories and being 100s of pounds overweight. I've spoke with many and some end up eating anything from 600-1500 calories of just rib-eye steak, eggs etc, so of course the caloric restriction is going to result in some weight loss, but its not even a healthy method to lose weight, dangerous nutritionally imbalanced joke.
@mikafoxx2717
@mikafoxx2717 Жыл бұрын
@@TheNaturalHealthBlogger how else do you suppose one lose weight if not for calorically restriction? Keeping insulin low by not eating carbs is vital in easily burning body fat. The filler is optional. When you eat fatty meat, you get a different, chemical satiety, not the distended stomach kind. The chemical satiety is from GLP-1 and other leptinoids reacting to saturated fat. You stay full for a long time. Eat to satiety and you might get hungry only once or twice a day. A calorie restriction doesn't really exist. Either you're generating less heat and your metabolism goes down, or you burn fat stores instead to keep it up. Calories are heat energy. If one were to stop getting water for a period of time, their body would upregulate fat burning for the purpose of metabolic water. Fat + O2 ---> H2O + CO2. Your body will burn on the order of 6000 calories a day without food or water to generate the water that is needed. This is why camels have fat store humps. 1kg of fat makes a litre of water.

Humans are not obligate carnivores like some animals, we evolved as opportunistic eaters being able to survive on what foods are available. After over 2 years on keto with lots of health benefits I decided to try carnivore for its simplicity in tracking carbs, but I found it to be a too restrictive diet as well as boring & cheerless. Besides, I was never a big meat eater. So it's back to keto for me.

The real deal lol These people are omnivores masequerading and pretending to be "strict meat/animal food only carnivores" just to cash in on this dangerous trend. promoting mass pseudo-science and causing major eating disorders with this "plant toxin" nonsense. The guy gets around enough on peoples podcasts, ask him if he wants to take a polygraph test to prove hes been strict carnivore no plants for 5+ years. We'll watch how quick this charade falls like a pack of dominoes like the fake strict "fully raw vegan" fantasists.

@@TheNaturalHealthBlogger yes thats the official guideline also in the Nordic countries where I live, but what are those numbers really based on?! ..it has been known fex that people in dairy using Nordic countries have a bigger problem with osteoporosis than fex Thailand which has traditionally not been a dairy country and with far lower calcium intakes. It is by now a fact that vitamin d plays a key role in calcium uptake and utilization and that vitamin d recommendations have historically been only to prevent rickets, this all has changed in the last decades.

@@TheNaturalHealthBlogger RDAs are just broad recommendations that aim to prevent deficiencies in the general public. They don't take into account factors like bioavailability, antinutrients or even the different requirements that one might have due to their diet. It's most obvious with vitamin C, carnivores eat only a tiny fraction of the RDA but never get scurvy. This is because they don't need to metabolize carbs or synthesize collagen, meaning they barely need any vitamin C.

Diet is interesting and helpful to some with health issues. What is concerning and should be to any Man is the potential of this diet to lower Total and Free Testosterone. Shawn Baker showed low Total once of 230 and then a retest his Free T showed 50 pg/ml. That is low and my concern is something in the diet deficiency and what not has caused this. For the younger guys out there without any health issues and are balanced do your research before going full Tilt into this. @@catheriam1945 Trust would mean you have full faith in without researching for evidence. As for Dan Henderson HRT Tan Chaffee seems like a liar to me. Claims He did MMA but no footage, Claims Rugby no footage. Denies the 24/7 red tan is HRT. Because if they admit to HRT that would mean the diet itself is failing in some areas for Men. So instead of admitting there is cracks in the diet for men replace what your body isn't naturally producing with medication... Carnivore has its moments but always be prepared to change course. Health isn't worth risking for any extremist. I don't care if they have a DR in front of their name it means nothing. My Mother in law is a doctor and she says "This is why they call it practicing"... Nobody has all the answers they just like to pretend they have a grasp on this. They are not GOD. My concern of the diet is potential increase in Atherosclerosis production. Do what you feel is best and how your body is reacting not because some goof is doing dead lifts or HRT red tanned people have DR or MD in front of their names and make $$$$ off videos and books or other sales. My issue with this diet is people are all jumping on this bandwagon blindly. I say this because I personally seen a drop in hormones that was not necessary due to the carnivore diet. I have done this for years and tested consistently and consistently the meat diet was the culprit. I was like nope can't be I'm doing everything correct. Training hard, eating right nope... I was wrong as some of these "DR Carni's are misleading some people. When the subject is brought up Carni's try to argue against the facts. Men do not need to walk around with 40-50 pg/ml circulating Testosterone. They like to say "it's only a brief moment shot of and doesn't count", IT does count. But if their levels were consistent there would be no excuses. I like to see truth but integrity is in question when money / profits are involved. For me Fasting 13-16 hrs per day, Train, pay attention to your body and how you feel "BE READY" to change course if things go sideways. Vitamins and Mineral supplementation to fill in cracks "WE ALL HAVE".

Chaffee, you are leaving out important details on the diets of Gironda and Nubret. Gironda didn’t “just” eat steak and eggs, he had a carb refeed every 3-5 days. Nubret also ate large amounts of rice and beans with his meat. I eat carnivore myself and advocate for it, but you are twisting the record to fit a narrative and it’s wrong to do so.

You’re conflating “eating a lot of meat” or “focusing on eating meat” with “only eating meat”. RE: Golden Era BBers, the Greeks.

I just googled Vince Gironda's diet--you are correct. His diet was rife with contradictions: the diet recommended carbs every fourth day. It excluded vegetables BUT included leafy greens. It excluded dairy BUT included butter and cream.

@@wrylife57 By your comment that his work was rife with contradictions, I can tell that you spent basically no time actually reading and studying his work. There are hundreds of pages of PDF out there of his methodologies, magazine, articles, etc. What sets Gironda apart from moderns like Baker and Chaffee, is that Gironda did not set hard and fast, absolute rules to nutrition. He had methods, that were to be used to reach an extremely specific goal.

Gironda did use vegetables in various methods, by the way. In fact he recommended vegetarian for specific people, as well as lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets for SPECIFIC purposes as well. On high protein diets, he recommended an alkaline meal (he gives multiple examples of what this would look like) to release sodium from the tissues. Chaffee doesn't know shit about Gironda's work.

I factor a lot of that theorizing out when listening to these pioneers. The basics of what they say regarding nutrition doesn’t change.

If you're experiencing constipation on carnivore, Dr. Chaffee's recommendation on that is to increase your fat intake (and make sure you're not consuming things like diuretics - e.g. caffeine/coffee).

@Mikiee Miike fat is self regulating so if you eat too much, the body will expell it. If your not expelling it, it's probably because your not eating enough. What is your fat to protein ratio? 70/30, 80/20?

The digestion systems are radically different. But also take your logic one step further: what is the grass eating and why can't cows just eat that? Each species has a specific evolutionary history and associated with that a range of diets with different levels of compatibility. The question we should be asking is: what have humans been eating since they started becoming and became humans? So roughly the last 250 thousand years.
