I'm thinking of trying Keto then Carnivore. I am a steak & ribs girl. I have relatives who are Vegetarian/Vegans who are due to religious reasons. I know they disapprove. And you have the Cilmate Change crowds who think cow farts are destroying the planet. Oh my! They promote "Meatless Mondays". Was told Red Meat is bad for you. It gets very confusing. I think everyone is different. Do what's good for you. "Haters are going to hate" Have a blessed day y'all.

@@katmontgomery7699 That's not a bad idea to start with Keto. I did that and the transition to Carnivore recently has been super easy. When you start make sure you drink enough water and supplement it with minerals like potassium and sodium/sea salt... I also benefited from taking some magnesium bath salts in my bath and supplements. You'll have a lot of carb cravings usually for a few days to a couple weeks and then you'll feel very little hunger and be in ketosis/fat adaption. Hang in there if you have some cravings or ups & downs...tiredness....aches....it's just you detoxing off sugar. Once that clears up you'll feel SUPER mental clarity, calm, happiness and for me it ended my anxiety/depression.

The mental health aspect is HUGE I started back Monday. I was almost at the end of my rope (that’s hard to type out) I’ve had a lot of loss in my life and my mother is end stage Alzheimer’s. It took about 48 hours and I feel like the dark cloud has lifted from me. Not to mention I’ve shed 6 lbs within 3 days. I know it’s water but 2 inches from my waist too. I am not giving up or giving in. I have to remind myself that I can’t fuel my brain like other people. My brain needs ketones. Eating this way is just how it’s going to be from now on.

I just wanted to share my healing process. 5 weeks into carnivore in remission are: acid reflux, mood disorder and anxiety, hyperinsulinemia. My 7 year old post-op scar that just would still be red and sensitive after years of applying creams, has now completely calmed, flattened and became pale. I don’t have an existential dread anymore. I’m focused and productive for longer. Quality of sleep improved. I really feel I became a better version of myself.

I totally agree with the statement toward the end: Surround yourself DAILY with a community of carnivores. For me that had to be online, especially Instagram. Because I was trying to break my food/carb addiction, I liken that advice to attending 12-step meetings. In April 2017 I started a “keto” journey with three weeks of ZERO carb, carnivore. Everything you are saying here I experienced in the first three weeks. I gradually transitioned to strict keto for the next 6 months. My biggest mistake was adding in more and more “keto” legal foods. After a year I had totally stalled out and finally fell off the wagon. Here I am in 2020 wrestling with the same overwhelming frustrating symptoms from inflammation from SAD eating. Time to go back to simplest easiest basics. Thank you for this video! I am starting again for good.

Never do I hear in anyone’s conversations even in keto carnivore world when the issue of dairy and lactose intolerance comes up..and discussion or acknowledgement that perhaps RAW dairy is safer especially for those with supposed “lactose intolerance”. I definitely understand the logic of reducing and eliminating dairy but I am fairly convinced raw dairy is a better and safer alternative if someone just can’t break with dairy.

So...as a male with a medical background...I've always been interested in anatomy/phys, etc. My biggest change thus far...after,..finally returning to 95% carnivore...is the difference in "bowel habits" actually. Everything about my daily "waste regimen is different now: less frequent, much less "stank",...whole/formed stools, etc. I know this effects tens-of-thousands of Americans and people abroad. I think wheat is my biggest culprit...but,...being carnivore is "my way". I would be "offended if someone asked me if I wanted cake and ice cream now"....silently. So many.....so, so many people out here need our advise...it's amazing how one changes. Now...I'm about to try some desiccated supplements of beef organs; liver, brain, spleen, etc. Only wish (in thinking),...I had known about this 30 years ago. I grew up on Cheerios, white bread and pasta....and more garbage. And...the American diet....is absolutely garbage....illness is "earned".

Thank you for bringing this wonderful group of women together to discuss their journey. I'm trying to get back on track having gained 10 carb pounds since Thanksgiving. It only takes one food with sugar and carbs to derail me, and I did not even go that crazy. I lost weight with keto, tried to go carnivore and could never give up the dairy such as cheese. I'm not a big fan of steak, at least when I cook, so going carnivore is really hard taste wise. Thanks again, I will look for a carnivore group locally to see if this will help.

Great video and very encouraging to hear all the various experiences. I've been on it for 6 weeks...I did Keto about a year ago for 4 months but this is so much easier. Lost 11 lbs so far and not hungry one minute...when I feel any hunger pangs, I eat. I learned to make beef jerky and that has been awesome. I also buy frozen already grilled hamburgers from Costco which are only a couple minutes in the microwave away from being ready-to-eat. I eat twice a day now as well and I'm encouraged to try a 24 hr fast and then a 36 after that...great job ladies!! Lisa, I had valve replacement surgery when I turned 50 and am 70 now. My triglycerides have been elevated for a number of years now and diabetes has been a concern so that's another reason for Keto and now Carnivore. I'm looking forward to having my bloodwork done prior to my next visit with the cardiologist.

On a positive note, I would like to see a poddy/video entitled optimal health and weight loss. I’ve been carnivore about 4 months now and the weight loss for me is slow, but that’s ok, it came on slow, I don’t expect overnight results. What’s been faster and better, is the optimal health aspect, including as previously mentioned, calmness, and a massive improvement in my hair, skin & nails. Given weight loss is an issue for so many, and food relationships are complicated, I’d love to see more on promoting the health benefits first then the weight loss, and addressing addictions to bad food. I’ve seen all these wonderful women speak in their videos by the way and love how they come across, especially Dr Judy.

I want that zero carb zen. In the beginning of January I tried carnivore from keto for a few days and I loved it! My craving for raspberries and chocolate went away but I missed broccoli and mushrooms and went back to my old keto-ish meals but I noticed I got bloated and didn't feel as good so now I'm going back to carnivore! Probably not 100% to start with but I already feel much better mentally and I'm not so bloated anymore!

Love, love, love this video. I just found your channel, Judy, yesterday. I realized half way through that it is 2 years old but every bit of this conversation is so important. Everything these women have experienced socially with the carnivore diet has been my experience. I too am addicted to sugar. I only started keto and IF and exercising more in Sept. 2021. Today, Jan. 2022, I’ve lost 35 lbs and have switched to mostly carnivore because that is what I crave. I hope you continue to do videos like this. I found it so inspiring to hear women talking about this diet and the success they are having as well as the practical adjustments that seem to be what we all experience. “I could never do that” is something I hear all the time. Any suggestions on how to respond to that would be greatly appreciated.

I loved this roundtable discussion! Laura is right about the mourning of the activities (such as baking Christmas cookies) that we lose that the rest of society indulges in. We just have to remember our WHY and build memories in other ways. I just started March 1st and did really well for 2 weeks and fell off (I was still eating meat because I love meat, but I was also eating sugar). I'm trying hard to get it right. I had bacon, an egg and cheese chaffle bacon burger, and 4 chicken thighs today.

Back in 2006 I started the carnivore diet. I was on it until 2013. I felt amazing, didn't have depression or anxiety, my health was perfect. I dont think I even had a cold durring those 7 years. My mental clarity and emotions were perfect. I had this unexplainable zest for life. I had lost almost 100 pounds and kept it off. Then I got pregnant and went off it. My sugar and carb addiction is so strong. I've been miserable for 8 years now. Gained 80 pounds and feel completely lost. I know what to do but for some reason I don't do it. I need to find that fire back.
