Yes men get excited when a new woman shows up. Women get excited when more resources show up.

Shermer kept forgetting that the whole point of this thing was for her to promote her book, and she kept finding clever ways to get the conversation back towards where she wanted it to go. It's like a master class in how to deal with men who aren't paying very much attention to what she's saying.

Interview could be better if host did not talk over the guest- we are here to hear the expert not the host’s personal stories (biking) from the host. Please try to extract info from the host.

after the more abstract themes of consciousness , realism etc I cant help but feeling that these debates on ' engineering' are pointless for you if as I understand you have already embraced the evolutionary argument tout court- reference your recent podcast with Richard Dawkins- are we going to introduce artificial breeding techniques/ chemical interventions and skew ' natural selection'. More generally you might consider natural selection soon obsolete anyhow as we become the ' intelligent designers'

I'm sick and tired of women complaining about being objectified. We do not only see you as sex objects. That is just your own myopic thinking. And if you don't want us to look, cover up so there is nothing to see

I'm sorry all this discussion about testosterone levels in trans athletes is bullshit. The fundamental difference is between XX and XY and this is easily established with a blood test and is not mutable. There is no technology which can change the sex chromosomes in every cell in a persons body. So the obvious and clear cut way to to qualify competitors is to confirm their sex chromosome status. End of debate. Stop pandering to the awoke idiots who want to "respect" trans athletes while "disrespecting" natural athletes by pretending that a male who "identifies" as females can compete fairly with females.
@aresmars20033 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The simple solution is to acknowledge Male sports as "First tier" and Female sports as "Second tier" so if women or transmen want to compete with men, go for it, if they can qualify, but the reverse should not happen. Intersex is a trickier problem for inclusion, but a tiny fraction of people, and objective genetics exist to defend the issues.
@mayflowerlash113 жыл бұрын
@@aresmars2003 Agreed. intersex individuals is a trickier problem, but I have not heard of any intersex people protesting about exclusion and this is because their circumstances are rare. I also think they have bigger problems in life than struggling to be included in women's sport. It's only males who identify as females and wish to compete in women's sports. BTW do these inclusionsists consider the rights of XX women who have worked hard at training for their chosen sport only to find when they get to an elite level they have to compete against a male who was born stronger than they are. That doesn't sound fair or just to XX women. And there have been several XY individuals who are self-identified women who have reverted to the male gender after competing in women's sport. Nice. Give me a break, woke ideology has been twisted so far it is contradicting itself.

Shermer is a TERRIBLE interviewer. He cannot shut up and let his guest - the expert in the field of their conversation - talk without endless interruptions and interjections. And while she talks about the impact of T reduction in trans competitors, there are many, many fundamental physiological advantages that post-pubertal males retain permanently.

Shes not anti-male, but I agree that the title could have been less "triggering" for lack of a better word. Perhaps something like "The Hormone of Aggression and Protection."
