Wow, could that lady have gotten any closer to the birds?! My late husband was a falconer and we did programs on birds of prey at schools so I know firsthand how clueless the public can be. Those programs taught me about personal space around people and their animals. Having strangers getting too close can spook a bird.

I can see why you got annoyed. She completely over stayed her welcome... I would of asked for some space. Her dog actually seemed pretty well behaved, not paying much attention to the birds. But still, she shouldn't have gotten so close with her dog out of respect.

The most you could stay is she could have kept a further distance. If personal space was an issue then ask the lady for some. It's not that hard. It's sad that a lady showing interest and asking questions is such a drama. Overstayed her welcome ? It's a public space, not somebody's house.

She can exercise her dog LITERALLY anywhere else. The point is that she kept staying with them the entire time, keeping the dog off leash even though they asked her not to. Taking pics and talking to them for a sec and then leaving is one thing, but she totally over stayed her welcome.

I don’t agree. These 30 minute videos actually take hours to shoot and are edited down to 20-30 mins that lady was there almost the whole time. NOT exercising her dog, and actually if you look she was completely ignoring the dog. He looked thirsty after his walk too. Even people with dogs get annoyed when people don’t leave their dog alone at some point. I have even experienced this with my kids when they were babies, at I supposed to just keep them locked away to avoid this? Come on. Also dog are predators and they like to chase things, especially birds. I don’t think she has a problem with dogs she is just cautious when flying her birds. There’s no way for her to know the temperaments of strange animals she’s never met. Regardless of her being annoyed she was still very polite to the lady. I think your trolling and blowing this out of proportion.

Hi Caroline beautiful flock... I look forward everyday to see Hope and the rest of the gang . I lived in San Diego for four years and also in Oxnard for 2 years. Oh how I miss it.. I just wanted to comment on one thing... The birds 🐦 you keep calling Crow are really Ravens... The difference between the two are the size of each... Crows are really small and don't fly alone . They usually flock. Ravens one the other hand will fly alone very high altitudes... Just commenting so you'd know... And Keep up ☝ the beautiful work that you do. Animals are unpredictable no matter what because we do not know exactly what they are thinking or how they feel. I completely understand why your so protective over your bird because you never know what could happen until it happens. I am the same when going out with my dogs to the park. Their is no 100% guaranteeing that nothing will happen.

I would be annoyed if a stranger was that close to my bird! Not only is she ridiculously close, she keeps getting closer. (I love her fashion statement of wearing different colored shoes!)My late husband was a Falconer and the Guild he was in would do appearances for Earth Day, Boy Scout Jamorees, and the state college Veterinary school anniversary. One year at the college,we had a guy who was DETERMINED to get behind my husband and the bird he was holding. I took a break and went inside, one of the organizers of the event asked if we needed anything. I told him we needed a barrier between us and the public. We understood that the public rarely gets to see a hawk or falcon up close, but birds of prey do not like people they don't know getting close, and especially behind them. We'd asked the guy who was trying to get behind my husband to back up, and he wouldn't, so the school gave us wooden barriers and yellow tape.

Having an abominable amounts of curiosity and questions slewed at us parrot owners comes with the territory of owning one of these majestic creatures. Not everyone has seen a parrot up close. I have an african grey that I rescued, but not bonded to me enough to me to flight him, and even in his carry crate, let alone in my car, I get / or shall i say he even gets a lot of attention at stop lights, drive through or in general public when I have to take him to get his check up done. Most people either own a cat or dog, so I can understand the fascination of seeing these exotics up close. And I am a proud Grey mama, so I dont mind educating people, even if they ask the most redundant questions such as " does he talk", just as long as they keep their distance and they respect my time contsraint, because parrots are very prone to getting stressed out with new people coming into their territory or near their bonded person especially African Greys, they are such sensitive parrots. But normally when he is in his carrier, I am trying to get somewhere immediately as to not stress my boy out. I have had some people try to pet mine uninvitedly and I have to stop them fast and rudely to get the point across that its not ok, because I am liable if they get bitten and most are not very sociable and are one people/ one sex preferred animals. But on the flip side, people need to respect us as parrot owners and give us space because they are such emotionally and physically fragile creatures, more so if you have a dog at your side, it can cause so much stress. Just keep a respectable distance.
