Wasn’t taking the dog into a 300 year old,still active church in someone else’s country a bit disrespectful? Just asking? If she were a service dog that would be a different matter but service dogs do not wander around with out a leash in any location. I have a service dog and she is vested and on a leash at any time outside of my domicile.
@CarolynsRVLife8 ай бұрын
I watched the town's loose dogs go in and out of that church all day long. The thing is, Mexicans don't care. Only Americans are so hung up on stupid shit and live a total human-centric life. It's a freaking 500 year old building, I think it'll survive a dog.

It might have already been mentioned, but I've found that 1tbsp nooch, 1 tbsp onion flakes, pinch of garlic, 1/4 tsp turmeric for the yellow-egg color and the big one, the ingredient that gives tofu eggs that sulfur taste is Hawaiian Black Salt. I use Frontier brand. I crumble the tofu and mix the above and brown slightly. It's very close to egg and no cholesterol!

Çarolyn, I think most are just genuinely concerned. You did sound "flippant" but went back & corrected yourself (or explained?) how you felt about it. I don't know how you know it's 'Cartel Land's but I do question your posting it in your title. I hope I haven't come across rude. My perspective on Mexico differs from yours. Growing up my fav place to go was our ranch in Mexico. Was beautiful, right on the river. The "Casita" was built by my family 3 generations ago. 25 yrs ago we gave the entire Ranch, land & buildings, to The Church of Romolino. It wasn't bcuz no one wanted it. It was bcuz it had become unsafe. I won't bore you of the stories how over the yrs we had to deal w/corrupt federalies, thief's, etc. My grandchildren will only know about our ranch named after my Great Grandmother thru pictures & that makes me sad. So when you make light of Mexico & it's current state of affairs, I get why people get offended. As always wish you well. I realize this is your life. Stacie 🇨🇱🇺🇸✌️

Great info re: noise. Baja is a touristy, party, vacay spot. I know of a large groups of people from the US who winter in rented homes there every year - one big party (senior citizens!) Baja has nothing for cartels....no smuggling points.,etc. I would be more wary of venomous critters, cougars and coyotes (and pokey plants)! Excellent boondocking spot! Once again, great soundtrack.

I’m a Church going, Bible reading Christian, and there was nothing wrong with Sadie being in that beautiful church. If people would read their Bible, they would first see that all of creation, including dogs, came from God. Also, they would see that God loved all of his creation and commanded us to take care of it. Sadie is his creation as well as you and me. Now, don’t ask me if dogs go to heaven. I’m on the fence about that. 😁

You're right the cartel is no joke. You say you are not flippant about your safety. Well, you are talking about the CARTEL, you can never be too safe when in their territory. So don't be too arrogant, because you did research. Always keep your head on the swivel and stay away from anywhere danger may lurk. Count your blessings that you had no problems while you were there.
@CarolynsRVLife8 ай бұрын
Out of curiosity; how much research have you done on the Mexican cartels?? Are you an expert on them? Or do you just watch a lot of news?
@DMContreras598 ай бұрын
Maybe I know innocent people who have gone down there just like you and have never made it back home because of the cartel. I'm Mexican-American, I NEVER go down there, my personal choice. It's probably more dangerous for me than you anyway. I'm retired law enforcement professional staff, I've read and processed many legal documents. I don't need to do research. I tell everyone going down there to be smart and be safe.
@CarolynsRVLife8 ай бұрын
I appreciate your concern. I agree, you're probably more at risk than I am. It benefits the cartel in NO WAY to start harming American tourists. . It's all about the $$$ and if Americans stop traveling to MX they suffer financially. That's the truth.
@DMContreras598 ай бұрын
The Cartels don't care about the tourists, that's not where their $$$ is, they could care less. Tourists are just as disposable to them an any other warm body. They don't care. Just stay safe.
