$15 a night is what we are paying for a month at a full amenities RV park in Oaxaca....including outdoor cooking areas, palapas and a sparkling clean swimming pool. I think Baja is a bit spendy compared to central Mexico. (You can look it up: El Rancho RV Park, Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca)

Terrific content Carolyn! Hooray for new places and fun experiences. I'm so glad for you and your friends. Oh, we tend to add meat to our tacos but my daughter is vegan and neither of her kids like mushrooms - IKR? She makes a seasoned lentil dish for their tacos and of course loads of veg. Baking them looks like a good idea. Thanks.

Yeah, it's really a different sort of experience when you are on the road, living in your RV (I'm in central Mexico) and working to support yourself. I'm 65 and my son and I run an online business. But I need to often explain to other RVers why some days they don't see me and I'm not just partying all of the time like them... NOT retired and NOT on vacation. Although it's awesome to have all these great experiences when I knock off work to run errands every day and go out exploring on my off days. Currently in Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca at an RV park (yeah, I know, spendy...but we like the amenities and pool and being able to leave the RV w/o worrying).

In Winter 1974 , we drove to La Paz… we had an Old Jaguar Sedan , and a tent and camping supplies. The road had just been completed, …the gas stations were built but were empty as they hadn’t been supplied yet. We had to fuel up at residents homes, where they hand pumped the gas from 45 gal. Drums! .. when we finially came out of the dessert just north of Santa Rosalia we headed for the beach and spent 2 weeks, the residents were amazing! So friendly! Had a class of students come to our campsite and practiced their English , while they helped us with our Spanish! Such fun memories… Best Fillet Mignonette steak we have ever eaten at a tiny restaurant then bar none……It is soooooo big now! It was a community of 200 back then! Enjoying the new look at it although, it’s definitely not the small town it was in the early 70’s.

Great ride-along, thanks! Btw...that was a great shot of those gorgeous clouds on the beach! At the end, those birds on the beach sounded like they were having 'Evening Prayers' together, or something! Maybe humans should do that - everybody just meet up someplace scenic at sunset, and just honk and make noise in unison to get out all the tensions and despair in their life. Might make the crime rate go WAY down!

I love the taste of Coriander or Cilantro. It is delicious in salads and curry with Basmati or Jasmine rice. 🍛😋 Your meal looks yum. Parking for a camper van is also a real problem for us in Europe. We only have a big black campervan, we don't have a car. We live in Germany, and many of the cities don't have much parking, let alone for a campervan. You cannot get into underground parkings due to the height restrictions. Some parts of cities are only for pedestrians and that is where certain shops are that you might need to get to, but you can't because you simply can't find parking. Going to countries like Italy or France, we could not get to see many places of interest due to not having a place to park. We did take a shuttle bus from our campsite in Florence. Its was nearly 40 degrees celcius. The bus dropped us off at the ass end of town and we had to walk far in the heat. It took the fun out of exploring. Our camper was smashed from a huge hail weather event at Lago di Garda last year. The whole area was raised by hail. It was heartbreaking as so many vehicles were writeoffs. We had to go to Fiat in Florence to get new back break lights. These things can happen on road trips. I wish we could tow a small car when we are going on a long trip so that we can nip in & out, find parking closer to where we need to go. 😂 But, yes, our camper is already long, & towing will make it even longer. The people in Italy drive like maniacs. 😂 It is a pitty there wasn't anywhere for you to park in town to eat out, etc. The town missed out on tourism. Sadie is such a sweet happy fur baby. She loves exploring. The device for the car is such a good idea. It is lovely to see all the places you visit. Don't ask me why, but I love going into supermarkets and shops in every country and looking at food and products, etc. There are certain things that simply don't exist in Germany like self raising flour. The German nation are excellent at baking many types of breads, cakes, pastries, etc. But they do not produce self raising flour. 😅 They don't know what it is. My partner had no clue what I was talking about when I asked him where the self raising flour is. 😂 And you can't buy baking powder in a tin or container. They sell small sachets and it's weak. So when I go to another country, I stock up on what we can't buy in Germany. If you do get to a decent supermarket again, it would be interesting for me to see what Mexico sells and produces that is different. Does Mexico produce clothing and shoes? Or do they import from China? Oh yes, and can you find any beautiful sea shells on any beaches? Thanks for taking us along on your adventures. Enjoy. Hugs to you and Sadie 🤗🦮💜😎

Yes i remember the roads in baja, yes I like Cilantro, I love making tacos, I like fish tacos, chicken tacos, beef tacos, and yes vegie tacos, especially corn season. I slice corn off the cob. lightly fry it in butter, add a bit of cream at the end, add chopped ham and mexican cheese and its messy but delicious.Of course onion, no garlic with corn, but it is very tasty, can either use white beans or pintos whole. As a single woman now tacos are my favorite food. or crispy fried buttitos.
