Carpathian Forest interview with Nattefrost at Steelfest 2023 festival

Carpathian Forest is one of those most legendary black metal bands from Norway and this time I have an honor to interview Nattefrost of CF and Nattefrost (the band) for the second time for the channel. I hope you enjoy.

Now, this is exactly a statement that I strongly resonate with "You don't need to sing about inverted crosses all the time. Existence is grim enough!" That's so on point it's hard to argue against. This is why black metal that explores the furthermost depths of the human psyche, deeply disturbing disorders, decayed mental states etc - that's actually terrifying. That's what makes Satan like a funny children's book character.

I would suggest that black metal has always been rooted in some spiritual worldview. Most commonly Satan or other adversarial entities that opposes or denies the creator god commonly worshipped. I agree however that the horrors of life, existence, mental illness, and ultimately death can provide ample material for musicians and artists to investigate.

This is the best metal channel out there the best interviews never asks stupid questions that bands have heard a million times artists always seem relaxed and more open with you than any other interviewer. Yours are honestly the only metal interviews worth watching its more like mates chatting than an interview.

Thank you very much for your inspiring comment. However, I want to point out that by no means Rauta is purely a black metal channel: other styles are welcome too and as such I have done interviews with other genres as well and the plan is to continue on that path. Regarding my style: I know it's not for everybody, but the aim is to keep it relaxed and like said, more chatting than an "interrogation-style" interview. More interviews coming out soon!

After the Nattefrost set I saw a dude who we befriended that day and he had blood dripping down his face. I asked "Wtf happened man?!" He said when Nattefrost threw the wooden cross it hit him on the head. He was fine but had to get his head glued up. So Roger was right when he said he was going to do something! Cool interview Rauta!
