Incredibly beautiful, would it be an idea to place a mirror on the other side of your workpiece while planing? You can then keep an eye on the lines on both sides equally.

First of your videos that I’ve seen and I congratulate you on your skills. Subscribed and liked. I’ve been a woodworker for over 45 years and think I realise the difference between design and skill. Design is very personal whilst skill is universal. A purely personal view is that the dovetails take away from the design rather than add to it. I rarely use dovetails these days. They were really developed - certainly in the West - as a good mechanical joint because the chemical joint (animal hide glue) was unreliable. No great piece of furniture showed dovetails as a feature but they were there behind the scenes. Nowadays, we have much less need for mechanical joints as our chemical joints can be stronger than most timbers. As a design which pleases me, have a look at a box made by Pedulla Studios. Not as curved in as many faces as this one but I love how he kept the curves going around the corners. I tend to line all my boxes with a thin leather or suede as most of the boxes are for keeping valuables in. Off to make time to watch some more of your videos
