Nobody will ever be better than her. Nobody. Such an insanely talented person, who was way ahead of her time.

In my 25 years of existence, she's the only singer that makes me stops whatever I am doing just to listen to her. I've had heared many singers and even those they called "DIVAS", but none of them give me the same impact, feelings and emotions. KAREN is in a league of her own and she's alone there. 💕💞💝💪💪💪

I sang lead in hard blues band for 15 years in the 60's and 70's doing Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson type stuff, but Karen was always one of my guilty pleasures. Such an angelic voice and so beautiful. A sad end to such a towering talent! I wish she was still here!

Even today, whenever Karen sings, so do the angels. She's the single greatest pop music singing star of our lifetime.

I've always regretted not seeing the Carpenters live in person. I'm really glad to see these films of them performing live on KZbin.

Awww......how beautiful she is. When she first started singing she already had that special something. But gee wiz, from her first recording to this, just a few years later, how much she grew up and just blossomed into such a beautiful young lady. Perfecting that sound of hers!!! Definitely gone to soon. Thank you Karen for all you left with us!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜

There are not enough adjectives in the English language to describe the glory that is Karen Carpenter.

Thank you for this live posting. Karen sings "For All We Know" so expressively that it's amazing to consider she's keeping the beat for the song at the same time on her hi-hat.

Even now, and this song was recorded when I was in junior high school (9th grade), I can only now appreciate what a remarkably talented singer and performer she was. The girl did not make mistakes, hit a bad note, never. She is like an angel singing on earth. I have a few years left, but don't believe I will ever find another voice like hers again. She never had formal training, she just sang as she played drums. We will may never find her kind again, at least not for a long time.

I was in high school and college when Karen & Richard were at their peak. How blessed I was to have been alive with her...and what a huge loss it was when she left us. Though I never met her, Karen is like family; and the Carpenters Christmas albums are part of our lives each season.

Among so many things that made the Carpenters so superior -- they worked very hard to duplicate the sound of their hit recordings in concert, to the delight of the audiences. Most other top groups tend to get sloppy and sink into inferior improvs in their concerts.

I felt that the Carpenters literally kept America together because of their very popular music that truly entertained. 1970 otherwise didn't have such great news.

If the music industry made a U-turn and started producing music this good again, kids and adults would buy it in droves and their profits would go through the roof. Get smart music industry!! Young people are getting sick of the trash you give them and we adults want a return to this kind of music.

...or overseen what Karen was doing. Her hair & wardrobe designer she hired in 1973 was the beginning of her downfall. The outfits, hair & makeup they dressed her in aged her appearance & accentuated any weight she gained.

This is the very reason that Susan Boyle crashed so hard on the scene. People are hungry for real singers, not just those that can screech out loud, sustained notes, but can also sing subtle, complex music that is not only inspirational, but covers even those emotions and tones that are not so intense. People are really hungry for this music again.

I think at that time, they didn't have color tv in Australia back then...what I was told...
@roydidlock10126 жыл бұрын
You were told correctly. Colour TV began officially in Australia on March 1,1975. Starting about 1973/74 TV networks in Australia began producing shows in colour in anticipation of being repeated after the introduction of colour tv. This was just too early unfortunately.
