Karen always bowed her head before she sang. I've always wondered why. Was she going to a place that allowed her to deliver with her heart and soul? Did she immerse herself in the song in total empathy with the lyrics? Then she would raise her head and deliver the most incredible performance. No one like her has emerged since her passing. Incredible!

WOW! Her voice, that of an angel, as many have said. No other voice on earth gets to me, like Karen's voice. No other singer has ever touched me the way that Karen's voice touches my soul. You know, I feel like this was to be her signature, "Goodbye song," long before she died, as it's beautiful, sincere, and very touching at the same time. Yes, this was how Karen always sang. As John Bettis said, who co-wrote 36 of their hits, about when he first heard her sing at age 16. "Karen had that God-Given voice, without ever working on it. And she didn't consider herself a singer, she always considered herself just a drummer that sings."

Exquisite. She is one of the great singers who really did not have a style. She simply took every song she sang and made it live. A rare talent; even some of our greatest artists can perform brilliantly but they cannot bring real life to their music.
@andylee26086 жыл бұрын
Well said sir. In a day and age, and maybe the last 30 years, where most singers only like to showcase their "soulfulness", "power", "brilliance", "virtuosity", only Karen can empower the voice through words with her unpretentious singing style and angelic voice. Now who really has the "soul"?

When you hear something so beautiful, you want to hear it over and over again. This performance is the perfect balance amongst unbelievable talents: Richard's elegant piano, Karen's sumptuous vocal perfection and the Mancinis' soulful melody and lyrics. I heard stories that she was a perfectionist, when in the studio recording songs that everyone thought the take was perfect, she would not be satisfied and want to do it again, I think that's why she was so good live, because the audience didn't hear a sour note, but she did. She is one of my favorite voices male/female ever.
