Awesome video once again. If anyone doubts a power stretcher then this answers their questions. Anyone who has used a kicker to restretch a room will know you would never get that amount of stretch out of a carpet! I now put sealer in my doorways and high traffic areas thanks to your videos, people think it's overkill but when you leave "as you said" the carpet won't fail. I also like your pan gun looks like it has many uses I may have to invest in one.

I take it that I could do the same thing along side vinyl floor and use a floor strap along the seam?
@FloorsbySouthernboys5 жыл бұрын
paulmax72 Yes, so long as it’s no more than about an inch you can usually cut the bad off and stretch it that much at least
@justsaygold7 жыл бұрын
I do these a couple times a week, very common here in California. Great job with stretching to both sides, sometimes they are tricky like that. Do you ever come across carpet to tile where the tile is much higher than the carpet? That would make for a good video.

Gold Coast Flooring | Carpet & Tile Care Sorry about that I meant to say yes I do come across those kinds of situations with real Thick tile and thin carpet the next time I get the chance I will do a video on one thank you for the compliment and for the recommendation and for helping me out The other day

You're welcome, I usually run into it when someone remodels a bathroom and the installer uses 1/2 backer board. I have carpet shims that act like a ramp, just wanted to see how you do it. Hopefully you got the ads working properly, great job on getting 1,000 subs!

Gold Coast Flooring | Carpet & Tile Care That’s actually the exact same way I do it or use the 7 inch shims and make it Alex just like a ramp and no I never did get my ads figured out still the same thing only on incognito do they work but thanks for your help on what you did anyway

I've got a cat that got locked in a 10x6 closet and he ripped up the carpet at the transition back about an inch and a half. The length I want to stretch is the 10 foot side. I'm curious if I can cover the inch and a half with a strong stretching. If I tried, should I consider anything anchoring the carpet other than the tack strips on the perimeters?
@FloorsbySouthernboys5 жыл бұрын
flippygang Inch and a half is a lot to stretch from a 10 foot round, I don’t think you’ll be able to stretch it that much , I would probably just put some extra nails in the tack strip that you’re stretching to and that will be enough to hold it but if the carpet is torn it’s going to be weaker on that edge and it might not hold up to that much of a stretch so you might end up happening to install a transition piece to gain a little bit of that inch and a half
@imawaffle78005 жыл бұрын
@@FloorsbySouthernboys alright, I'd like to transition just not so sure how. Flooring company wants $500 for the job. They'll sell me the carpet 12x12 for $117. I don't have any spare nor an inconspicuous place to steal from.

How much did you charge for that? Not the whole job just that repair
@FloorsbySouthernboys5 жыл бұрын
Mike Vasililou well it was figured in with the entire job, but if I had of only done this repair it would’ve been a minimum charge of $135, a person has to set the minimum rate to protect themselves from little repairs like this

He has about $1000.00 worth of special tools, you can rent most from Home Depot!! I knew what he was showing but understand where you're coming from!! He has many videos that show many repairs!! Good luck to you, hope everything works out for you!!!
