Right, I have also used it, the effect is really good, the tires are very clean, waxing is very easy to get started, I bought it during the promotion, it is cheap and easy to use, philisn's products do not hurt the car paint, safer and more environmental - friendly.

Nice one, Sandro! What would be your tips for avoiding water spots if possible?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
The biggest thing is avoiding tap water drying in direct sunlight which tends to instantly create water spots, so washing very early in the morning or very late in the evening helps and obviously if you have the option of getting a DI water filter system on your tap it’s a huge plus. Water spots also take time to become more stubborn and etched in, so the sooner you get to them the easier they can be removed. Also running more water over the car if it starts to dry up before your finished washing or drying will tend to stop water spots being created.

Hi Sandro, I just wanted to say a quick thank you for making this video regarding Descale. I have a coated car with Carpro Lite (based on your review of it) that just hit the six month mark and was working very well. We had a little bit of a light rain rain a few weeks back and for some reason it left a lot of mineral on the paint which killed the hydrophobic properties and slickness. I worry about acidic cleansers, but after watching this video you outlined very well how it works and it took my worries away. I used Descale today following your guidelines via traditional bucket wash and it worked great, restoring the hydrophobic properties to what they were and restoring the slickness I didn't even realize I lost. One thing that surprised me was you mentioning how well Descale glides across the paint, you are absolutely right about that. I was impressed with the lubricity and overall loved the product. I will be going over to buy you a coffee, your videos and reviews really help a lot of us, so please keep it up.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing8 ай бұрын
I think Hydro2lite & Wetcoat are quite similar in performance and both very good, you could even add 303 spray and rinse to that list. Reset is absolutely fine and safe/effective for car sealants, especially your more chemical resistant ones like the spray and rinse category.

@Vikturus222 жыл бұрын
Hi everyone! I hope you all can answer this question. I recently purchased a 2018 Lexus IS350 F sport and got some nice detailer from chemical guys. I used it in my car and now all my plastics and "wood trim" have gone dull. You cant even see the time on the clock, trim lost its luster and brightness and The Gauges in the middle are hazed to hell. Is there anyway to fix this or is this time to pop down to supercheap and get them to file insurance?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
You could try a fine polish to clear up the haze on the clear plastics - something like Meguiars plastx polish should work well or really any fine car paint polish. On the other trims you can also try the polish as long as they have a gloss finish - you shouldn’t polish matte or satin finishes as you’ll change their finish. If working by hand just use a foam applicator and a bit of elbow grease and hopefully they will clear up again.
@derek7232 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sandro. I'm completely confused by CarPros marketing now. People have been paying $90 USD for a gallon of Reset, with the thought that it "Resets" coated vehicles and there's nothing else like it on the market. Seems like CarPro is admitting that "Reset" thought process isn't true with DeScale, and you're simply paying $90 for a regular old car soap that typically costs $30
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Detailing products are getting more elaborate and confusing as the market grows! It’s actually quite a bit of work keeping up with all the new products and trends! For many that have garages for their vehicles, don’t accumulate crazy amounts of mileage and don’t have to deal with hard water or harsh environmental conditions, they’d rarely need something like Descale or Lift, but even those that will benefit from these products really won’t tend use them every wash, whereas something like Reset will and should be used much more often in between Descale & Lift. Reset is still one of my favourite coated & non-coated maintenance washes after almost a decade of using it and I don’t think Descale/Lift are really going to replace it, though I do understand that the word “Reset” may not be the best if you’re trying to reset a badly contaminated coating 🙂

I have been battling mineral spotting lately, the water i use seems different from what it used to be. I tried Koch Fse and TAC wsz, but no success. Seems the spots are too tough. Polishing helps, but by the next wash, i am back where i was :(
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes when there’s increased amounts you have to encourage those mineral deposits to resurface after polishing. Put the car in direct sunlight for an hour or so and let those water spots come back up, put the car in the shade, let it cool and then polish again, that can help get rid of them for good. Another thing that can help us using a primer polish like Carpro Essence Plus. It has certain cleaning solvents that can help prevent mineral ms from resurfacing, it’s definitely worth a go.

hi, my car is graphene coated. Would Descale restore the hydrophobic performance?

@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks and you can certainly use Spotless diluted, and if it removes the water spots that’s great and I’d continue using it that way. In my experience what tends to hard the coating more is the technique used more so than the concentration (within reason and depending on the specific product), but if you go with a few light applications and don’t push down when working it in it’s far less aggressive on the paint and coating compared to doing a single application where you wipe with heavy pressure.

would using something like CLR be comparable in efficacy in removing waterspots?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
CLR could very well remove water spots effectively, though I’d be extremely nervous using it on car paint or trims as it’s quite a harsh chemical that may not do your car finish any favours. I’d be really concerned it would fade, stain and etch car paint and trims.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Merry Christmas! You’re not necessarily going to experience a loss of hydrophobicity depending on the specifics but generally Reload and Elixir work pretty well especially over CQuartz coatings to boost and maintain them. I would have just applied another layer of Hydro2 or Hydro2Lite over my wife’s Alfa in that case, so I also think you could just continue with whatever sealant or top sealant you already have on the vehicle as Descale and spotless also clean extremely well so you should get a pretty good bond with most products after that intensive clean.

The big take away for me was that there was an increased benefit in firstly using an alkaline strip wash followed by the acid detergent that overall seemed to work best as far as reviving a coating/sealant goes. I think there’s just more specific contamination that each of them does better at removing and I also found that Descale seemed to work better after a stronger alkaline detergent was firstly used. I would say any of this is conclusive but that seemed to be the case.

I have a real, genuine question that is sort of related. How much does it matter what brand you use for shampoo, snow foam, was, tire cleaner, tire gel you use? like I personally use Chemical Guys but I know there are some other brands that I=I hear are better and not as great. Is it worth it to but Carpro products for everything or at least some things and other brands for others?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to generalise on whether you personally will find a benefit in other or more premium priced brands of products. The best thing you can do is just try a couple and see if you obtain better results or a better user experience and if over time they also provide a benefit to the condition of your vehicles. There’s a lot to it when you start to factor in things like the method and techniques you use, your environment, your own expectations and your ability to assess results, all of which can vary immensely! This is why you get so many conflicting opinions: because everyone works differently, are in different environments and have different perceptions and experiences with almost every product.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing First off I want to Thank you for replying to me, so Thank you. From what I got from this was it doesn't matter as much s I thought it does to an extent. There are more factors that go into the cleaning products that I realized and how people have different opinions about each one. Thank you again

Hey Sandro nice review. On this case the side doors weren't 100% restored the best option would be a iron remover? This leaves me the question if the carpro descale substitute an iron remover?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Жыл бұрын
Thanks and no I don’t think Descale is a substitute for an iron remover, both can certainly be used if needed to treat the different types on contaminants. Though I don’t think I’m this case it was fallout particles degrading the sealant - more so just a lack of maintenance leading to the sealant diminishing.

Great review Sandro! As many wrote already now we all know when and how to use these products! I have wrote this before and will continue: you are saving us a lot of money, time and we are avoiding mistakes by purchasing unknown products and experimenting ourselfs on own cars. Great info, great new products and a fantastic filming, as usual!!! Cheers from snowy Sweden.

I think if water spots are an issue for you or you live close to the beach it could be a great product to use periodically regardless or whether you have a coating or not but it’s not necessarily a requirement if you don’t have a need to combat these things.

Not sure if they'd fit, or if you'd be interested, but Holley teamed up with Morimoto (I believe) to create some awesome led sealed beam headlights in various sizes but best of all; warm and cool white options. They'd tremendously improve nighttime visibility on your civic yet still look retro and period correct They only come in LHD form but after watching videos of outputs, its such a mild "step up" that you could safely get away with it in Aus Off topic but always appreciated this little green beast

Descale bucket wash with no gloves ?

Carpro Descale as an acid leaning car soap in no more harmful than Carpro Lift as an alkaline leaning car soap. Descale is like putting your hands into a dilution of lemon juice or vinegar acid based liquids.
