Nice products. I’d like to see a test of Descale on a ‘tired’ ceramic coating. Less than one year after my application of CQUK 3.0 i needed to use some maintenance every now and then, especially on the lower part of the car, to keep the hydrophobic properties alive. A good test would be to find a car with a ‘tired’ coating. Wash it and show the hydrophobic properties (or the lack of it), then use Descale to try to bring the coating back alive without using Reload or something else, which - in my opinion - are just camouflaging the degradation? of the coating for a month or two.

Hi Pan, I use almost all the Carpro products. My Audi SQ8 has their ceramic coating as well. I have been using Auto Fanatic foam wheel and tire cleaner to mixed results. I would like to see the Retyre demonstrated to see if it does a better job removing previous dressings and dirt. Thanks Mark

It is mainly used to do a full prep before applying a tire coating. This shouldn't be used for regular tire maintenance cleanings. This is some powerful stuff.

Pan have you tried Carpro denim and velvet pads. They are amazing for orange peel. You save a lot of time with them. I even use them on paint that needs heavy correction. Helps me to save time, but they do need to be cleaned more often than regular pads.

I’ve been looking for a product like InnerQD for a while now! I’m going to get a sample size to keep in my glovebox with a microfiber cloth so I can wipe down my dashboard and infotainment screen to knock down dust and fingerprints AND aid in preventing them from reappearing. I’d love to see a demo and/or comparison of ReTyre. A clean tire is the most important step to even dressing application and I’m always looking for improvements in that category!

I'm curious to but I'm wondering where it will sit. Because I have Inside already for cleaning and I use Perl 1:5 on interiors for dust usually and to dress/protect.

InnerQD is an in between for regular light maintenance cleaning, like on a weekly basis. For heavier cleaning you have Inside, and for protection you do have PERL diluted 5:1 for interior use. But you don't need to use Inside and PERL on a weekly basis. If the car is maintained clean regularly, all you will need moving forward is InnerQD. And then when a few months have gone by, do a full Inside + PERL job again.

Descale isn’t a regular maintenance shampoo. It’s a shampoo you will use only when needed (mineral buildup) or for quarterly maintenance washes of ceramic coated cars. For regular washes, use CarPro Reset or your choice of pH neutral wax-free car shampoo.

You certainly could, because CarPro states: "Versatile cleaner capable of removing waxes, sealants, and tough dirt." So it would start the breaking down process of older waxes and sealants, like a stripping shampoo, plus will tackle the water spots and mineral deposits that it can. Keep in mind though, stripping shampoos on their own can't guarantee 100% removal of previous protection. Machine polishing (mechanical abrasion) is what ensures 100% removal of previous protection.

If your wheels are ceramic coated. Would you recommend using retyre on a applicator pad going around the tire? Or would this have any diminishing affect on your ceramic coated if it got on your wheels during use?

You can spray the tire and not worry about the overspray of Retyre on your coated wheels. Just thoroughly rinse after cleaning.

Hi Pan - I have a new 992 that should arrive by mid-July. I've instructed the dealer to no apply anything to the exterior as I plan to do a full detail myself. Would you recommend using Descale for the first wash of a new car with nothing applied to the paint or is that overkill? Thank you!

Yes I would still use Descale (or any other stripping shampoo like McKee's 37 Coating Prep Wash) to make sure you remove any potential cheap wax they might have applied prior to delivery (if they didn't listen to your instructions, which happens more often than you think).

I currently have two coats of Ice Seal N Shine on my car and it’s working great. However, I’m thinking of switching to Hybrid Solutions Graphene Flex Wax when this Ice bottles runs out. In that event, would you recommend using Descale to strip the old sealant in preparation for the Flex Wax? What about a product like Mother’s CMX Paint Prep?

Descale alone probably won't be enough to fully strip off Seal N Shine as it's very chemical resistant. Same thing with paint preps. Alone, they won't fully strip off strong protection like SNS. A light machine polish might be necessary to ensure 100% removal. But you don't really have to if you don't want to, as Flex Wax can be applied over existing waxes, sealants or coatings.

It does happen sometimes on glass. Did you clean your wipers? Did you clay the windshield to make sure you remove any embedded contamination?

The car was quite new so I figured it may not need much deep cleaning so I used a stripping car shampoo only then applied the coating to both the windshield and a bit on the rubber on the wiper. Not sure if I shouldn’t have put it on the rubber maybe?

Lift is an alkaline pre wash for added cleaning power. Descale is an acid wash to remove mineral deposit buildup on the surface.

@@kimnewling5728 Pretty much yes. Keep in mind that when it comes to Carpro, their products are all designed to either prep for or care for their Cquartz coatings. They have many other uses as well but that is their intended purpose.

I'm confused at what your question is exactly. The important is to not use pressure above 2000 psi when washing cars. I actually set my pressure washer to 1000 psi to wash cars. Since this video, I upgraded to a higher end Kranzle 1122TST unit which pumps out a stout 2.1gpm of water outpout and has quick connect type connectors, so I can easily swap accessories like guns/wands and foam cannons. Hi Pam, CarPro Inner QD or Gyeon Interior Detailer? Gyeon seems to be more of a cleaner and protector in the one product. I love CarPro however find Perl is greasy.

Chemicals, if kept in stable conditions and not frozen, are generally good for 1 to 2 years. So you're fine.

Both are different. Gyeon Interior Detailer just lightly cleans. It has zero protection. InnerQD cleans and adds UV protection. It depends what you want.
