Also wouldn't a set of jumper wires and regular track work? No need to take apart the powered track...

You didn't need to do anything other than take the LEDs out of the hole and put it back together as it won't count laps or do anything other than transfer power without the LEDs to read the LEDs on the cars.

Or just put a tiny square of electrical tape over the LEDs. Wiring in a switch for the LEDs would be a worthwhile mod though.

Interesting. So you are saying that you want to make this into a "Helix" type of oval track? You start in the outer lane, do one lap and end up in the inner lane and then come back to the outer to count the lap?
