I use to watch American Idol all the time - saw the season when Carrie won. Even back then I thought she was pretty and a good singer, but I didn't think there was anything special about her voice. My opinion has not changed in all of these years. She's allowed to perform anywhere she pleases. However, I will skip American Idol this year - she's a judge this year.

She did well under pressure but skipped a verse and the modulation into a second chorus. No way was the song meant to be less than a minute long! Carrie's voice is always so pinched and nasal sounding, though she sings well. She was a little flat and strained.....
