You're so lovely. I'm so glad I saw this as I always forget how powerful our thoughts really are. My mom is a great example of this. She arrived in Canada at 32 with no money, 2 small children, no skills and no English. Her goal was to own a home for us but we were so destitute that seemed like a far off dream. She now owns her beautiful dream home in her dream neighbourhood and is looking to buy another one as an investment. I know for some people this is not a pinnacle of success but for a single mother and a refugee to provide safety for her children a home was exactly that. A lot of people ask her how she did it and she attributes her success to hard work, but she told me another reason which she believes was more responsible . She's a very no nonsense woman and was a bit shy telling me this but she would drive to through the neighbourhood she wanted to live in and visualise that she was driving to her home, she imagined buying it and living in it and walking through it. She did this for months a few times a week. One day she saw a for sale sign and decided to just look as it was impossible she could ever afford it. She bought the house that day. She is convinced it was because she imagined it, it happened. Keep doing what you're doing, you're great.

Hi Carrie! I stumbled on the Female Entrepreneur Association on Facebook a while ago and have loved following your posts. For some reason, today I decided to dig a little deeper. I went to your website, became a member, and have ended up here on KZbin. I watched a number of videos this morning that you've put out, but this one was most inspiring to me. First of all, THANK YOU for being as vulnerable as you were and for talking about the money mindset and the ways you overcame it. I agree that the mindset is something we all have to work on daily and you have some awesome tips to do so! I'm in the process of trying to expand my freelance/entrepreneur business and I find I get in my own way often. Whether money-wise, or even focus wise. I have so many passions (I'm a content and creative writer, I am a graphic designer, and social media marketing/manager). What I really want to do is help people, much the way you talked about. I find that I feel best when I'm helping others overcome their issues - for example, social media. I recently taught a local group of female entrepreneurs in my central Minnesota area how to engage more through social media for their businesses. I went home feeling like a MILLION DOLLARS! Listening to your journey and how you've had struggles, but were and are daily working at turning it around is truly inspiring. I'm considering launching my business more toward an online coaching/inspiration and hope that one day I'm successful with it. :) Thank you again for sharing and for doing what you're doing. Carrie, thank you SO much for overcoming your reservations and for posting this. I stumbled upon your book on Amazon last week "by chance" (if that's not a misnomer) and it arrived on Friday. I started to read it on Friday night at 9pm and finished it not long before 3am that night. I'm somewhat embarrassed to confess that by the time I'd read your introductory pages and reached page 1, I was (literally) sobbing as I've felt unbearably overwhelmed, utter despair and desperation and a total failure... I've been seeped in negativity, criticism and/or ridicule from my family all my life (excluding my husband and youngest two children) and I've more recently finally had a growing awareness of how adversely all that has continued to impact on me throughout my whole life, but just didn't really know how to turn things around. Having read your book just two nights ago and discovered all your free resources - thank you so much too for those - (and having started a daily Sa Ta Na Ma mediation four days ago), I'm already starting to feel a shift in my mindset, clarity and am noticeably more positive. This money video really is a critical form of guidance for me as I, too, have trouble accepting money via my business - it's been running 9 years (supported by other things, at times) but I'm still not able to take any income from it and it's now almost at the point of imploding. I can see how this video must have been another case of you having to go outside your comfort zone (as mentioned in your book) and I really, really, do thank you so much for having that courage that you also mentioned in the book, to have gone ahead and made this video nonetheless - and posted it here. :) :) :) I will follow your advice as I'm very aware that I definitely have many, deep-rooted money blocks. Without exaggeration, I actually remember overhearing my grandparents telling someone that I was bad with money... and at that time, I hadn't even started primary school yet! Even at that age, I remember wondering how I could be bad with money when I never even had any personal money at that young age... but sure enough, I have been bad with money all my life.... it's always flowed AWAY from me! I AM NOT ALONE!!!! Someone else is as crazy as me with affirmations! Although mine are not working as well as I would like them too I think the key is belief. I completely agree with what you said. It happened to me before when we had no money and it broke my heart seeing my parents and siblings disnt have dinner. I was desprite to have money and i did not know what to do. Until i just applied anyware and did not even think i was going to be hired sonce i was just an undergraduate. But it did turn our lives at somepoint when i was accepted for a job. Right now im trying to figure out how i felt and how i got that perseverance to strive hard and made sure my family is not hungry again.

What an inspirational video! The timing of me watching this is very interesting, I'm definitely going to do this. This video really speaks to me in where I am in my life. In fact I've seen some cash on my path several times recently. I feel a strong current of money flowing my way and am trying to remove the blocks to receive it. I want it and need it but I fear I'm attached to certain ideas that artists aren't supposed to have money! However for so long I've repressed my true worth and value which is very high, and settled for less than I really want or deserve.

I'm going to try this for some business/financial concerns going on right now. I've had some of the bigger accomplishments in my life happen partially from employing this type of thinking and discipline. Sometimes we have to be reminded of things we've forgotten (or doubted) and have the flexibility to apply them in whatever way works for the "pieces of life" we're working with. Being a member of the Female Entrepreneur Association has been such a fun, growing, educational experience. Not only have I learned a ton about digital marketing and all types of business skills which have helped me in my own business ventures, but I was also able to bring those skills to the investment company I work with, and bring their marketing into the digital age, assisting with scaling up the company, which is leading to an eventual partnership. I'll report back to you, Carrie, how it works out.
