I’m absolutely obsessed with this car. I prefer this a bit more than the normal GT3, and something about this really draws me in. It’s so clean and sleek, performs amazing, and just looks so timeless. And I love how you could add rear seats if you really wanted to (like how Seen Through Glass did with his GT3). And seeing all 3 variations of this GT3 in person and being in them, I just love the Touring so much. I can’t remember the last time I’ve liked a car this much that wasn’t from the 80s or 90s. With this particular spec however, not a big fan of the black wheels and clear taillights, but that’s just my preference.
@AlanisKing10 ай бұрын
I feel so similarly. I think about the normal GT3 daily
@Looney2110 ай бұрын
While this car is awesome, I don't think I would own anything newer than a 997.2. The 991 generation kind of started the whole "let's not drive it and make it a garage queen" phase of Porsche ownership. I just don't think Porsche builds these cars for enthusiasts any more. The tech, power and handling are all there and the engineering is out of this world...but these are out of reach for the majority of true enthusiasts. I drive the wheels off my 996 and I can work on it as well!
@AbandonedRaven10 ай бұрын
@@Looney21 I genuinely couldn’t care less about that kind of stuff. And in my opinion I just didn’t like how modern Porsches looked without the long taillight. And I just think the 991 looks a bit off. If I had one I want to daily/drive it as much as I could. And the new 992 GT3 RS doesn’t seem like a garage queen car at all. Maybe the buyers may do that, but the car itself isn’t with that kind of performance. To discredit myself though, I wouldn’t buy one from a dealer. Trying to buy one brand new seems like a huge hassle and wait…I just want the car, if I had the means to get one. Even though I don’t like the 997.2, I do know someone with one and they’re cool (same with the 996). I can understand the issues with the brand or the collectors/those on social media, but their cars are still amazing to me. I really feel like they got the 992 right. And cars before the 991 like the 911 R from 2016 are the same way. They’ve always had super rare unobtainable versions of the 911. Even the old 930 Turbo S Sonauto that’s like 1 of 10 or something like that.
@Looney2110 ай бұрын
@@AbandonedRaven kind of exactly what I said.The new cars are engineering marvels and are, by far, the best performing 911's EVER! However, the vast majority of the GT cars sold now do NOT get driven regularly and are bought by the wealthy as an investment or for bragging rights. Even though they are the most capable Porsche's ever built. Most original owners of 991 and 992 GT cars have never tracked them and probably don't even know how to properly drive the cars spiritedly. That is sad because Porsche could easily make them more affordable to a lot more true enthusiasts, but the whole greed and money grab thing prevents Porsche from doing so.
@Looney2110 ай бұрын
Oh and the 996 and 997 (to a degree) are more true driver cars. The 996.1 has no "nannies" save the very basic traction control and the 997, while it has more mannies, it can still be driven like it doesn't. I have nothing against the newer cars and if I win the lottery tomorrow, you can bet there will be a 992 GT3 in my garage. But honestly, my base 996.1 will still be my favorite and the 996 will forever be my only dream car.

Hi Alanis, thanks for another cool one. Well, among the 911 line up, this could be easily the one for enthusiasts. completely under the radar but still a GT3, which means, probably the best sports car ever conceived. You want smoothness and touring luxury mixed with wild speed, the Turbo is for you, and the cheapest model, the most simple Carrera is already a phenomenal automobile with the perfect balance between performance, luxury and practicality (for a single guy or a couple with no children) but The GT3, particularly the Touring, which I prefer for being discreet, is really a wolf in sheep skin. a dormant beast and opposite from the italian makers, Porsche engineers make sure you visit your garage just barely for the basics. The best car hosted by the prettiest girl. Win win I'd say. Much love as always from West Spain! 😉
