Would be a lot more educational to both the viewers and the players if they told us not just the year it was invented, but showed what car introduced it, and perhaps some context to along with it.

They gotta do another challenge but only with cars they purchased from CarsAndBids. It's time to see Doug actually buy a car on his own site and use it, as he has yet to buy one from there and every car he's gotten after launching CarsAndBids has been outside CarsAndBids.

Re: traction control, Packard introduced the limited slip differential to the consumer market in 1956, followed by Chevrolet in 1957 with the Posi-trac. Although not computer controlled, they did essentially the same thing using mechanical means.

Growing up (being born in 1986) i remember my Dad having the coolest Car when he drove me and Friends to School It was a Mazda 323F and because of the Pop-up Headlights all the other Kids would be amazed by it Pop-up Headlights definitely should come back! Doug is exactly right! GM's traction control was only used for 2 years and then dumped. Although it returned in 1979 in a Cadillac.

For those curious about the traction control question, Buick MaxTrac in the 1971 LeSabre is what is being discussed & yes it was computerized.

GM was also putting optional airbags in their units in the early 70's, and had HUD by the mid-80's.
@BrimHawkКүн бұрын
Wasn't it the Grand Prix GXP that got the first HUD?
@donnyo639Күн бұрын
It was actually offered on the '88 Olds Cutless Supreme first, then the Grand Prix got it a couple years later on the GTP. (You could also get it as a standalone option on the SE or GT)

Actually the first car with fuel injection was a Goliath GP700 in 1952 (also German brand) .... 3 years before the 300 SL Mercedes
