Not only is that only the second place trophy, but it's George Russell's podium from the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix, a race infamous for only having a single lap that was completed entirely under the safety car. It is arguably the least deserved podium finish in F1 history.

I like Vinfast VF8. Why? It's because I am driving one. I used to spend $100 on filling up the gas tank of the same size gas-powered SUV, but I now pay only about $40 to charge from 12% to 90% ($0.58/kWh for non-member if you're a member, you pay only $0.40/kWh, and you would pay about $33, stead of $40) at a supercharging Electrify America. With a 65% battery from 80% down to 15% on a single charge, my VF8 Plus can go roughly 170 miles during the normal weather condition in California! The best thing is now that I don't have to nervously look at the gasoline prices whenever driving past a gas station! Also, I no longer smell/see any oil leaks on my garage floor.

I live in Cary, NC, home of the first franchise VinFast dealer in the U.S and not too far from the future factory (or whatever it might end up being), and even with all that said, I see a surprisingly high number of these things running around. I'm pretty sure that $249 lease deal has something to do with it, but almost everyday on the way home from work, I'll see a VinFast I hadn't seen previously and typically always on 30-day paper tags. Who knows what will happen with this brand, but with a potential of 7,500 manufacturing jobs in central NC, many folks (mostly government people) are rreaallllyyy hoping it comes to fruition. I drove one a few months ago when our dealer group was pitched to sell them and it was...okay, I guess. It drove like pretty much every other EV SUV, but heavier feeling, which definitely says something as all EV SUVs are ridiculously heavy. Much like here, it took me a bit too long to figure out how everything worked but once I did, I got the point of it all. I get the appeal with a $249 per month lease, but if that $20k-ish VF3 doesn't come to the U.S, I think they will struggle. As much as they probably don't want to, VinFast definitely needs to pull a 90's Kia/Hyundai/Daewoo and become a price leader to gain sales, and they now have an advantage with Chinese EVs being essentially banned from the U.S to take over that whole space, especially if almost everyone else is abandoning that department. Ultimately, we'll see what happens.

Tôi là người Việt Nam, quê hương của Vinfast. Thật sự VF8 chưa nổi bật ở thị trường Mỹ. Nhưng ở Việt Nam, Vinfast rất tốt và an toàn khi so sánh với Mazda hay Toyota. Ở thị trường nhỏ như Việt Nam, các hãng lớn thường cắt giảm an toàn và chiếc xe bị vo thành giấy nếu tai nạn, Vinfast thì không như vậy. Đó là lý do chúng tôi thích Vinfast và hi vọng chúng được đón nhận ở Mỹ

Vinfast's cars used to be just BMW's cars with a modified interior and exterior, but some of the core quirks like the momentary turn signal and the door handles, the latches making you have to pull twice are still there. Those things are remnants from when Vinfast used to make ICE vehicles

Why, why would there need to be a software method for turning both dome lights on at the same time? Just use the physical method for each one... It's clearly faster and easier.

I am one of the VF8 owner. It does have a physical button for all 4 cabin lights, just like a normal car. The settings on the screen is for convenience to let the driver (boss/director) do most functions around the car without getting out of the driver seat. It’s a luxury feature. On top of these, many key non-driving operations can be done with voice command, such as climate temperatures, fan on/off/levels, volume up/down/certain levels, sunroof open/close, windows open/close, trunk, navigation, seat cool/heat, etc.
