Charles has this 2013 Epic Racing Chassis kart powered by a Briggs and Stratton L0206 practice engine that he bought for cheap years ago. In today's episode, we're getting this oval track racing kart running again, changing the tires, clutch, and more, and hitting the CarsandCameras Dust Bowl oval track in a head to head racing challenge!

So hype to see an oval kart on the channel!!! It’s kinda crazy because I just recently pulled my old oval karts out of the shed the other day.. (inspired by you guys). I haven’t raced in over 10 years. I used to race with my pops, he was my pit crew but he unexpectedly passed away. So oval karting hits me in my soft spot. It was some of the best and most memorable times with my dad. Had a predator on one of those chassis that night ripping laps in the backyard with the biggest smile I’ve had in a long time. Thanks for teaching me not everything cost an arm an ah leg. Hopefully by next season I’ll be out on the track again making pops proud. 🤘😁

Never driven a cart, but I remember wanting one when I was a kid. There were some insane class some years back, like late 70's or early 80's. I remember they did 0 to 60 in under three seconds and topped out at over 180 mph. Like I said, insane. I remember this because I read a comment from a driver who thought he'd have a pretty good chance going up against a F1 car if he got to choose the F1 track. The key was lots of curves tight enough the F1 couldn't just power through on aerodynamics sticking it to the tarmac as up to about 60 mph the cart accelerated faster but it couldn't match the acceleration over that or the top speed of the F1 car. I remember being pretty impressed by the pure guts you had to have to climb into a cart that does 0 to 60 in less than three seconds. After all there were no crumple zones, not really much of a roll cage, nothing I'd care to call a suspension and you're sitting in a fiberglass bucket with your ass an inch or so from the ground. I remember a few years back I was wondering if it was still around and it took some searching before I found anything about them. Apparently the league was disbanded shortly after I read that interview due to being to dangerous. Still I kind of would have liked to see that driver get a chance tp prove his theory about being able to best a F1 car on the right track. There's something compelling about the pure insanity of a machine like that.

We race dirt karts here in Alabama and I can say this, it’s an adrenaline rush. I’ve been racing since I was 8 and it’s one thing to hit high speeds when all we have for protection is a helmet, gloves, neck brace, and your choice of a driving suit or jacket. Some times I wonder if maybe I should race Champ karts instead haha. Atleast you have a role cage of some kind

Be real careful with your air filtration it doesn't take long to take out one of those Motors, you need to sock over the filter with oil on it, I've seen some expensive Motors go down that way, I used to race a 5 and a half horse Briggs to begin with, but with a little work it became a high-compression nitro engine, learnt the filtration the hard way so important, PS I'm 65 years old and I love your show, remembering the old days

Very cool to see something different besides a Predator or clone of sorts Honda CT-50/70 engine. So what's UP with the ROCON Ike??? I saw the thing in the back of your pickup truck Man! Lol! Been awaiting the unveiling of it, if you happen to have plans for it on the Show?? The first and undeniable 2WD 2 stroke All Terrain Motor bike! My uncle was the only dealer for Rocon in Vermont when they were first being manufactured. He had them his whole life after the dealership until he couldn't ride them any longer, so a good half a lifetime for him and a good 42 yrs for myself. Looks like yours was a older version and had the original West Bend/Chrysler 2 stroke on yours? The rims were sealed and designed to hold a few gallons of either extra fuel or water for long periods in the mountains up there, plus the extra weight made for so much better stability and traction control with the oversized AG tires. Be a awesome restoration project for the Show guy's......
