Making a lot of the packages mandatory reminds me of Henry Ford's comment "You can have any color as long as it's black." I'm so tried of the prices going up at a time people as struggling to get by. I agree with a comment below, the Nissan Frontier is looking pretty good nowadays. Very nice summary.

The only people ordering fully loaded anything are dealerships trying to maximize profits. So now the actual buyers will have to pay more for stuff they never really wanted.

I don't believe this is true. Given the packaging prior, most features people wanted were in the Convenience package I or II on the LT or II or III on the Z71 trucks. Things like sliding rear window, telescoping steering wheel, heated seats, EZ Lift/Lower tailgate, etc. I do believe some buyers will be paying more for more vehicle than they need but that already happens and they are most likely seeking one or two features where they have to get a higher end trim for that item.

I really hope your info is wrong. My plan was to order a 2025 LT with leather, Bose and the sunroof...pretty much fully loaded. Im really upset because we are not onto off roading whatsoever and going with the LT seems to offer the best paved road driving with its all season tires. I hate the trail bosses, zr1 and zr2's because I don't want noisy all terrain tires or crazy suspension I won't use. Uggghhh. If this is true I may need to scoop up a '24 loaded LT

The trail boss has a 2 inch lift, the zr2 has a 3 inch lift

GM reversed the decision to eliminate the LT model and now has a new "LT trim level", in either 2 or 4 wheel drive.

Gotta give Nissan a shout out for keeping the only mid size truck a N/A v6. I’m not even a Nissan fan. GM get away from going small engine and slapping a turbo on them. 👎

It never ceases to amaze me how few people understand why turbos are a thing. The EPA said trucks MUST get substantially better gas mileage. The manufacturers have to listen to that by law, and you get engines that are considerably smaller and lighter delivering the same or more hp/torque via turbo. Sorry, but that is NOT changing and is the future for ALL midsize trucks and, slightly delayed, most full size trucks. Just be grateful you aren’t having to drive an all-electric truck. Don’t blame the manufacturers, blame Biden’s EPA.
