I think he's got a 20" and an 18" bass that match the kit. I remember him doing a side by side comparison in the demo video. Can't say for certain which one didn't have the inlay tho.

I bought a pair of your signature sticks, and after I was using them for a while, I realized they were terribly matched. One had more grain, and one seemed smoother. The smoother one was better in every way, it wasn’t chipped while the other was torn up, the sound on the ride cymbal was drastically different. And it was a different color even. Is this by design?
@BoneCrusher6402 жыл бұрын
No that’s not by design. It sounds like you either bought them online or didn’t check them before you left the store. If you bought them online I’ll just save you the future pain and say never do that again haha. Head to your local “drumstick vendor” and test the pitches/weight/ergonomics of the stick and see what’s right for you. Guitar Center even has a long strip of rubber across the stick shelf just to test them out. Happy stick hunting my friend!
@LeakyJAZZ2 жыл бұрын
@@BoneCrusher640 closest guitar center is 2 hours away
@drumchanneltunnel51912 жыл бұрын
@@LeakyJAZZ if you buy them in bulk you can keep the pairs that are well matched and then mix and match the others and if you get lucky find a good match. Best trick is to tap your heads lightly and get the pitch and match them that way. Would work if you bought 10+ pairs at once.
@LeakyJAZZ2 жыл бұрын
@@drumchanneltunnel5191 all I’m saying that Vic firth does that for you, and, at least, I thought, promark was supposed to, too.
@drumchanneltunnel51912 жыл бұрын
@@LeakyJAZZ me too, ive had ok experience with promark but will always prefer vic firth for that reason. Carter is locked in though so i was saying if you really wanted to keep using his sticks that there might be a way to match them.
@NintenDub2 жыл бұрын
No matter how much I try, I just can't be that consistently smooth on the hi hat...any chance you do a video on sticks, gripping, buzzing/fingers, proper ...real control...etc etc I feel a lot of videos just don't explain that. I've been playing 20 years and never had a lesson.but when it comes to rudiments, stuff like doubles..I still can't figure it out correctly. I don't know what I'm missing. And I've played a lot of gifs with drummers who have no chops,and it seems the same with them: they're just holding the sticks. They never figured out how to do it properly either
@cartermclean2 жыл бұрын
I go over that on my educational website cartermclean.com 👍🏻
@daniel.lopresti2 жыл бұрын
Just start practising singles, doubles, paradiddles, for 30 mins a day, or even better, grab Stick Control and go through all those exercises, including accents / dynamics... it's all muscle memory, you need to repeat it over and over again till it comes naturally. There's no alternative. EDIT: practise with a metronome :)
