I will never understand why pepole think physical media is outdate. For me it's more convenient then streaming as A: An episode or movie would be removed at whim/ won't be move to a different streaming service with out notice. B: I actually have a chose as a consumer to say what cartoons/movies I want, and what I don't. Unlike streaming were you pay a flat fee to pay for both the content you don't/do like. C: Bonus features D: It gives me something to show off, and show my taste to guest. I don't understand if Books can stay digital/phyical why can't tv,moives, and video games

It’s strange, albeit awfully convient, that Season 4 and 5 of SpongeBob were still released on complete 3-disc sets in regions 2 and 4. And I don’t think we ever had the infamous box controversy with The Simpsons sets down here, at least not by the time my family started collecting them in 2009. I’d always wanted a set of Phineas and Ferb boxsets, since Disney was notoriously much more restrictive in releasing their TV shows on DVD, but it’s all too convient to have the whole series (and hundreds of others) on any given streaming service. Still, they should still have more customised menus for each show and more extensive bonus features. Paramount+ isn’t worth the money until they add the deleted scene from the first SpongeBob movie where Patrick vomits for 10 seconds.

When I was a kid I was a massive sucker for the old animated mario cartoons, and there was no such thing as streaming services back then. There was teh internet, but I was a dumb kid that could barely find 1 or 2 episodes on youtube. I had to rely soley on the dvds, but I could never find full seasons. They were almost always compilation dvds with either various episodes from that series, or a mish mash of episodes from the several different series. Also, despite several of these dvds having episodes of the super mario super show, several didnt even have the live action skits that would happen before and after every episode. I gave away most of my other dvds, but I still have this one dvd of the adventures of super mario bros 3, called "the trouble with koopas" or something, and its just a mix of various episodes. Of course, later on we eventually got netflix and I was able to watch the super mario super show complete with the weird skits. Now-a-days I could care less for dvd copies as I have no need for them, and collecting them is both expensive and confusing.

The original show was rereleased for the 25th Anniversary of the show in the form of the Complete Collection, containing all 4 volumes of the show, plus the direct to video movie Wakko's Wish. Apparently the film was released a second time on DVD, but the original show was released on DVD 5 times. I still find it amusing they have used the same stock images in like 90% of Spongebob merch. You can still see the same images on merch from 2021 as you did in 2001. They will still be around long after the Heat Death

I'm not sure how I never came across your channel before, but I'm glad I'm here now. NICKtendo is an awesome name, I love it. Subscribed.

I made this comment before you went into the name of the channel in this episode and you were right, it's not what I thought it was. LOL

The 80's Ninja Turtle dvds are way worse. Season 1 Volume 1 has 10 episodes from season 8. There's an AVGN video about it.

The Futurama Complete Series box-set in the UK doesn't have the four movies in it.

Didn’t expect Galaxy Lamps! I’ve had one for a long time now so I’ll vouch for it, it’s really neat. It won’t cover your entire ceiling but it will cover a huge chunk of it. You get one choice of star color when you buy but the sky color is fully customizable

I'd really like Cartoon Network to rerelease the Regular Show box set in America and hope make a Gumball box set once the movie comes out.

Was hoping for a mention of the South Park season bundles of 1-5, 6-10, 11-15 and 16-20 with each being a big box with one of the four boys’ head, because those SUCK! The main packaging is pretty generic, minus the back having an entourage of characters from the seasons within grouped up. The packaging is very weak and cracks easily and the discs are all held in flaps that barely connect to anything. The discs are also all reprints of the original season sets, commercials and all.

Lol I have the 1-5 & 11-15. Maybe someday.

Something dvds somehow have over streaming services is bonus features. Just about every single release was filled to the brim with content that was sometimes more entertaining than the feature presentation. I get that additional red tape is involved with these, but it can't be that hard to add this bonus content on the extras page if they could.
