Hello, thank you for your great videos on the craftsmanship of ivory. I've recently been interested in ancient Greek statues that were made from thin ivory plates to cover a wooden statue. Do you have any videos that might use a similar process where thin disks or wafers can be bent or molded together to cover an entire unflat surface? Like a statue arm or statue face? I would love to tap into your knowledge on this topic!

Hello Dicegamenetwork, we are so happy that you found our channel! Yes l am familiar with that technique though I haven’t actually clad a statue l have bent ivory for other purposes. I have taken piano keys and bent them into little round boxes by soaking the ivory in white vinegar for four to five hours which makes it quite flexible until it dries. Once dry it resumes its original hardness. It was the statuary that lead me to this. I hope this helps and I would like to do a video on it sometime. Welcome to the tribe!!

Hello Jonathan and welcome to the tribe! I would love to do some grips for you, they are kinda pricey though. The ones I have been doing have been on blanks made by a company in Texas ( www. Texas grips. com). Those are nearly six hundred bucks to start, then my time is around 1,000-1,500 more. So a person has to really want them. Thank you for your interest, hope to hear from you.
