BMW has a ratio 8.6 lb/hp . S63 has a ratio 7.6 lb/hp and the S65 has 8 Lb/hp so they is no crying. BMW did very well considering it is 200 kg heavier.

BigBoyRob Mercedes and bmw were both shit in the early 2000’s, bmw even more shit. around 2006-2008 is when Mercedes started making a bit more reliable cars. Regarding new a Mercedes is going to cost more than any American or Japanese sport car because same maintenance and parts cost almost 2x more. Mercedes definitely makes the better car in this new era, bmw has a track record of cars that have had their engines/transmissions blow up early >100,000km. Look at all the m3,m5 especially the e60 that have had rod bearing push out and blow up the engines on all their cars. At 100,000kilometers it would almost be a guarantee of rod failure and need new engine, also those smg transmissions all went out at around 100k. Those cars had a lifespan of 100k 60,000 miles if your lucky, that is just horrible. A lot would even blow before that mileage, my friend bought a brand new 2019 bmw X6M edition and the 4 cylinders blew at 2200km under acceleration, it needed its engine replaced. bmw also has been putting crazy amount of plastic parts in engine compartment and all have some sort of leaking fluid issue because of cheap plastic pumps that overheat and crack. End of day Both are not exactly great reliability but Bmw is worse by a longshot. I rate Bmw 1.5/5 and Mercedes 3/5 for reliability. I’ve had 4 bmw and 3 Mercedes in my lifetime and my friend is a mechanic that works on these cars all the time

Duny but it also isnt slower ob the roll. The s65 is not build for performance. The v12 is way heavier than the v8. Id prefere the 63 amg over the 65 anyday. Way sportier and better tech. The s65 is only meant for the chinese or russian market.
