I currently drive a Giulietta and want to upgrade to a Stelvio. It looks and drives amazingly. Alfa's are massively underrated. The issues of the past are no longer there. They are well built, amazing to drive and reliable as long as they're well maintained as with most cars.

Did you get your Stelvio? I too had a Giulietta and absolutely loved it. I’ve had an Evoque for the last few years and found it a big laggy and clunky despite not being very big. I’m just in the process a Stelvio and can’t wait to get back in an alfa again!

I've got an exhaust valve mod on my Giulia QF, so I would imagine once the Stelvio QF hits the market the same will be released. This means you don't need to stick it in Race mode for the valves to open and can have the ride in comfort. And for the record in D, the valves open over 3.5k anyway. A mode is not all weather, it's advanced efficiency which shuts down cylinders. These QF's are brilliant, and anybody buying are going to love them.

My wife and I own the 2018 Slelivo Ti sport, 1 model below the monster shown in this video. We absolutely love it. The only complaint, would like to see a detuned version of the 2.9 Twin turbo, say 400hp. Only option we have is the 2.0 turbo in the Ti sport. Don't misunderstand me, the 2.0 is fast, would have liked another engine option without dropping 90K. The stelvio is way better in winter driving conditions than our jeep grand Cherokee was. If your looking for a midsize SUV, I highly recommend this car.

Why would anybody ever want any other wheels than those on this Stelvio Q.. They are THE most beautiful wheels in history. Alfa has been making similar 5 hole wheels for ages now (debuted on Alfa 156 in 1997). I was a proud owner of Alfa 156 and for the money and power it produced (JTD 140 HP) it was the best car a 20 something guy who was out to get some could buy. And believe me, girls loved it. They never knew it was a 10 grand car, used of course. Now this Stelvio and Giulia are a dream.. And I'm not talking about these QV models, they are way to expensive, although they depreciate quite fast. There's a peach of an engine that produces 280 HP in Giulia and I have my eyes on one of those...

The reason for that exhaust thing is that we italians don't like things that seem sporty, but they are not. Just like the S-Line packs on Audis. With Alfa you have to get full sporty Quadrifoglio car if you want to look sporty. And you also have to BE sporty if you want to make a sporty noise. I hope I explained myself well :)

I have one. This car is a monster. It may look like a SUV but it's actually a Ferrari in disguise. When in race mode you feel like having a rocket beneath. If you're not an experienced driver DO NOT BUY it or you'll end up killing yourself. This car is for men, you need guts to push it to the limits, if you're a German accountant stay away from it and go for your boring X5s. it's made for the road, it's all about the driving experience, if you buy a car for the infotainment systems it means you have no idea of what a car is, that is driving and soul. Go buy Audis and BMWs if you are no petrol heads, this is not for you.

This car is super fun to drive. I got the opportunity to review one a few months ago. One of the things that took a bit for me to get used to was when it went into a standby mode at stop lights to save on petrol. I know you drive a lot more new cars than I do. Is that standby pretty normal in this day and age? Also the reason race mode takes off some of those safety features is for the track. I was watching you with envy. Heidi

DailyMeds yeah. This car actually shuts off as I recall, but all you have to do is hit the gas and it will go again. I heard it was being implemented more often, but I drove a 2019 MINI and it did not have it. I was just curious. Mat drives a lot of new cars. Heidi

The normal one is still very good, with standard elements many sports cars don’t even have: front wishbone suspension, aluminum for lighter weight and 50:50 f/r weight distribution, Brembo 4pot front calipers, an 280hp engine for a sub 6s 0-62, carbon fibre driveshaft, aluminium shiftpaddles, optional LSD.

Great review! - And this SUV is entertaining and it looks pretty good - really good proportions, nothing appears weird or forced in the design - Alfa did a great job with some help from Ferrari, but who would complain about that. I´d like to see a VS between this and the RR SVR and perhaps a third contender on track. No doubt the SVR will have more off-road capabilities but for sporty driving dynamics, it would be interesting to see.
