DESCRIPTION
It was a dark green suitcase. Given its proximity to the bridge, the men assumed it must have blown off the luggage rack of a vehicle driving above and hauled it onboard...

Thank you for this excellent telling of this case. I have been following it for a while, and I learned details here which I had not heard elsewhere. You are skilled.

Forgot if this was mentioned, but before the suitcases were found both she and a parent (I believe) called the bridge toll company to ask that the fee for crossing the bridge be removed. She had a pre-paid tag in her car, which scanned even though she went thru and paid in the “cash only” lane for that trip. There is audio of the toll collector customer service saying they would refund the fee, but them arguing back that a refund wasn’t enough, they wanted all evidence of it removed. Then there were multiple Internet searches for “untraceable poison, how to commit murder, etc.”...plus everything else, truly an avalanche of circumstantial evidence.

With all that research, cunning & planning, you'd think she would have studied how to keep suitcases submerged. Although, there was a weight disk or two in each one, wasn't there?

It was Melanie McGuire. She is in prison where she belongs. Please don’t let yourself be swayed otherwise. She is pure evil.

How could she do this to her children? Not to mention how could she do this to Bill. Just imagine the reality of sawing up the body of your husband.

Wife here… Does anyone else always hope the authorities are wrong when they finally settle on a person/ suspect? I find myself doing this every single time! I want them to find the “real” killer because, as in this case, it just couldn’t be the wife, (or husband/children), that did it! Right?!?!?! I usually know in my heart of hearts who did it literally from the jump, or at least I think I did/do, but I just can’t help myself!!!!!!! I think I need help… This issue I have does not lend itself to serial killers and the like, more to the personal cases like this one. 🙄😳😬

Hey mate just wanted to tell you I'm a big fan of the podcast, I'm a garbo from Victoria and I've been listening to your podcast ever since I found out about it six months ago. You and your team do a really good job mate and you've got the perfect voice and accent for the topics you discuss it gives it a real sinister feel. Keep up the good work. Any chance you can do a podcast on Adrian Bailey Jill Marrs killer?

She denied owning a gun in "The Land Of The Right To Bear Arms"? Isn't killing a person murder? Then how can the sentence be to kill a person? What kind of nonsensical Hillbilly Justice is that? Civilized countries have abolished that act of sheer lunacy it , far too often, murders innocent people

Melanie has a lot of book smarts but very little street smarts. Way too much evidence left behind and all of it pointing straight at her.

Sending letters to everyone, including herself, as a ruse to try to get people to believe that he was killed because of organized crime and gambling debts was just cringey.

I'm not 100% convinced on this one. How and where did a small female kill, dismember and move a large man and leave no physical evidence? If guilty she surely had help.

Again, the spouse who murders wife, (or husband), never considers the children left behind. For that, it's easy to despise them. Too much true crime?

In 4:58, reminds me of a friend who told me about his school mate that saw a box on the edge of a side walk- and started kicking it as he walked to school- when he got there he decided to see what was inside- opened it to find a severed head- he was never the same.

Ok I’m going to have to UNSUBSCRIBE. The annoying drone of the Aussie accent I could muddle through but this report COULD NOT BE MORE BIASED! Allow me to be of service to listeners: go to Direct Appeal Podcast. It is one thing to simply be a story-telling channel but a whole other when the “story” is clearly one sided.

It’s one-sided, because she murdered her husband. No such thing as sooo many coincidences. This is one of 3 of the best podcasts there are. If you want a podcast that is careful of your feelings, then maybe you should unsubscribe.
