I like how much of it was stolen right out of an Oldsmobile Aurora from the wheels to the entire power train to the instrument panel. Slick as heck I love it.

That is a REALLY cool car. As soon as I saw the DOT sealed headlights, I thought "early 80's" but the wheels threw me. I have NEVER heard of this car before, which I love. I'm amazed at the body panel gaps, being a prototype. That is a seriously well-built car!

Yeah, it doesn't exist. We're not allowing it to get known about today, either. It looks out of place, anyway. Don't bother talking to us about it. You're not our friend. You're not educating us about it either. They trained us not to think about it.

The Guanci (Gwan-see in the American pronunciation) SJJ-1 had two generations with this one being the second of the two. This particular generation was designed in 1981 and originally had Centerline racing wheels that were reminiscent of Countach wheels, five holes around the perimeter with one in the center. This generation was never in any other color that they silver in the video but I'm sure that other colors would bring out the lines of the car more instead of washing them out. That said, yes, it's a really cool car.

Is this the man himself? I remember seeing a body being sculpted out of clay at that new shop you built on Washington St. Because I worked for you building washer systems late 70's early 80's. This showed up on my KZbin feed and I couldn't believe it. Is this one the prototype because you had plaques with the production # on the console. If I remember right wasn't the SJJ after your kids initial's? The SJJ-1 was a cool car.

@@johnguanci2316 First off truly sorry to you and the Guanci family for the loss of your father. He was a true car guy and passionate about The Guanci mobile, what we called it. He was always nice to me and everyone when he made his way into the shop. The loss of anyone especially a parent is devastating, both my parents and a stepdad have passed away. Stay strong. I worked for P/Q for 4 years and learned my welding, cutting, fab, assembly and blueprint reading skills from there. You must have been quite young or not born yet, IDK. I was a gearhead in my early 20's with a 79 Z-28 which your dad showed interest in as I modified it. I remember going next door at lunch and after work always checking on the progress of the build. I believe a prototype was there. And watching the guy sculpt a body out of clay for a mold was mind blowing to me. I am retired now and still in Woodsticks. Does your family still own any of the cars? I own a 1950 Ford F-1 ratrod truck with a supercharged SBC, 700R4 trans, 8.8 ford rearend and 4:10 posi. Can be sketchy at times Gearhead 4 Life. Anyway, sorry again, your Dad was a great man, day by day. Take care John.

@@speedyg2577 I was born in 1970 so my early childhood years were shaped to an extent by having a Dad who started a car company and was featured in Motortrend, R&T, Superauto, etc. I still remember when he bought his Lotus Elite and woke me up at some crazy hour in the morning to see it. I couldn't have been more than 6 at the time but I remember thinking it was something special. No, we don't have any of the prototypes, just memorabilia and the like. Seems like a million years ago. My Dad was one of a kind, thank you for reaching out.

I looked up the history of this car. Talk about a rare car! The front end looks like a 300z front end with a Porsche rear. It looks well built also. Are you going to go into more details of how you found it, history of it etc? I am glad you were able to get it going and preseve the car. I was a technician at a Caddy dealer back in the day. We used to get some of the Auroras in the shop. The engine in that car was derived from the Cadillac Northstar engine. Keep an eye on the water pump and the little belt for it. I remembered them leaking and also seizing up at times.

As to the chassis, while it is a tubular steel monocoque but not as the brits do it with little round tubes, nope. Our family business was an industrial manufacturer of industrial ovens and paint finishing systems (at that time) so the tubes were rectangular and very robust. But there were holes located strategically to reduce weight. ;-)
