I’ve been cash stuffing for a while, and like you, I caught it from a random video. It helped me payoff my credit cards two years early and now I’m heading for my newest adventure. I’m retiring on Wednesday after 24 years in the same career, now I have to learn about one paycheck a month. While I’ve been planning for this day, it’s a big step. Cash planning has certainly been a big influence and it certainly changed how I looked at things. Also, my son has a friend who is a Christmas baby. His mom would celebrate his birthday with the family on his birthday, but with classmates during the last week or two of school so kids parents wouldn’t be burned out on the holidays and the kids would also get an end of year party. She did it all through his school years, it was a blast for the kids and he really got a kick out of it and his birthday wasn’t overshadowed by the holidays.

My daughter & I went to Costco last Saturday, oh my it was brutal. Weekend before a holiday not our brightest idea. You are right about just starting. In 2022 I walked around with a spiral tablet of everything written down, by mid-2024 we were debt free and then soon after a month ahead. Now we are working on our "one year ahead". If we hadn't started we'd still be paying off the house, vehicle and the giant credit card. We didn't start saving for Christmas until August so have been rushed to get the amount needed. Next year we'll start in January, we don't need a lot, $500, so it's $42/mo. Life happens and being prepared keeps things stress free. Great video!

Love your Videos!! Welcome back, Mr. Simple LOL. Thanks for explaining the whole savings part an entire year before Christmas 2025 😊

I love your explanation of saving for holidays, vacations etc. Those are things that cause setbacks. Seems great in theory to cut out everything and put it all to debt. Until we are faced with Christmas or whatever else and end up adding to debt and backsliding.

That’s my situation right now. Most of my money is going to debt but I have about $150 for Christmas left after buying two gifts a few days ago

@KateBudgets definitely have been there. We have way minimized our Christmas and just don't do a lot so it's not as big of an expense for us as others.

My sister and I are staying home and cooking just a small thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Then Friday I have to work but my sister and I do plan on going out and finishing up the last of our Christmas shopping after I drop my babies at their grandmas for the night. But we are definitely almost done shopping. And then presents are going wrapped Friday as well.

wrapping is one of my favorite parts 😆 i hope you enjoy your time 🖤🖤

@ I also love to wrap. I have a lot of people in my family and one year I wrapped over 120 presents by myself in 3 days.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are really stressful too. I’m meeting my boyfriend’s family who he’s not close with and we’re also spending time with my family so I bought my folks a pumpkin pie. I’m not excited for the Christmas shopping because of my limited budget but we’re all doing the best we can right now lol

i’m so sorry you’re feeling stressed 🖤 just remember not to allow the opinion of people who aren’t close to you or your boyfriend impact you. and ALSO remember that the budget you stick to now will mean more peace for you later than wild spending does 🖤🖤🖤

Enjoy the week and I hope that the shopping and baking goes smooth. I’m in Europe, so don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, but I have one thing that I want to buy on black Friday if it goes on sale. Keeping my eyes open and hoping that they lower the price.
