Casio G-Shock GA-710B review

I have this same model since like 3 years. It's indestructible. I use it always for tough work, like metallurgy. It has received sparks from the angle grinder more than often. It's been smashed, beaten, soaked in mud, etc. I can't say how much bad life the poor thing has had. And this beast wants more. I regret having bought this one because there are many models that are more good looking, but I will never sell it, it's MY G-Shock. The illumination is sh*t (I agree), love how the hands can me moved to see the digital screen clearly, I use the alarms quite often. Very, very happy with it.

You can move the hands out of the way u have to press the light and mode button in at the same time

Yes sir you can move that hands out of the way so you can see the digital number by pressing the upper left button for 3 second

Guys I just got this model and it came without outer cardboard box, AND it is soooo shiny. Did I get a fake? Your review shows a more matte black color

I don't know if it's fake without seeing it myself, but I do know there are shiny versions of this watch with the same module. If you can I would just return it and order another one.

from what I understand and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but the back color is a japan model. I have the 2 other ones you have and they Re both from japan originally.

Interesting. I've heard that JDM Casio watches also have a special alpha-numeric code in the model # but I am not 100% sure on what that is.

Unfortunately it is not scratch resistant. However it is well protected, so as long as you are aware of your surroundings than you should be fine.

I wish these reviewers would take the time to read the manual and familiarise themselves with the watches functions before they sprout fake news. In this case not being able to move the hands out of the way, which of course you can as the first comment correctly pointed out.

Yes you can. G-Shocks are great underwater.

If only Casio could make a backlight as good as Timex's Indiglo. The frustrating thing is that Casio has good backlights, so I don't understand why they always use this style of light.

I bought it minutes ago and already hate it… even though it’s really beautiful, if I knew that the back light is like it is, I wouldn’t buy that… it’s really stupid the way they did it

Yes, very unfortunate. Whoever is designing these things gets paid way to much for offering so little. I have a hard time believing that anyone actually prefers just one LED.
