Very good show! One thing about the G Shocks are the annoying pushers ! So recessed into the case it’s not pleasant to use! This though..... lovely!!!! Why I like the DW290!

The DW-290 has been a big hit, and we know why, you of course LML :-P You can see some Possible traces of the Mission watch in this DW-291H, but they dropped the Auto backlight?? With regards to the buttons on your square G-Shock, this is also with regards to how it's used, as big sticking out buttons will get knocked, and with those smaller buttons, you don't want the beeping each time you're emptying your lawn mower... it's not always about making it easy, sometimes it needs a firm push, try the GXW-56 King button presses, and in one of my videos I did a pressure button test, and the King was the toughest :-P If you prefer easy to press big buttons on a square G-Shock, then you need to look at the GMW-B5000 :) Cheers for passing by my friend :))

I purchased this model a while back, it looks so much better in person. I have a few GShocks including some more expensive models,but find myself wearing this one for some reason. Love the gold display and those large buttons.Thanks for the video

I absolutely LOVE this watch. Feature packed, intuitive to use, looks great, tough, and best of all, cheap. It gets the bulk of daily duty for me. Wore it to Mexico, mainly because I was afraid of pick-pockets, and wore it all day every day in the ocean, in the pool, didn't care. It did just fine. I wish it came in more color combinations, because I would buy them all.

There's a few other CASIO's that share the same kind of module, but this version looks more G-Shock, and in the hand it doesn't feel soft. The WorldTime features are amazing, and with the 200m side, this is a very strong contender being the most affordable one travel watch. You should join CASIO PASSION, as there are posts daily with some CASIO's i've not seen either... cheers for the feedback :)

You can operate if from a radius of about 200m at least... it's written on the bezel LML :-P Are you thinking Dad? I can't believe how solid it feels, and really, it's a G-Shock in my opinion... I wonder what deserves the name for 'Heavy Duty' can't find any parts explosions for it, and I don't want to start screwing around with a new watch :-P

Looks like a nice watch had many many many Casio digitals and never broken one yet so don't think it really matters whether it's an actual G- Shock or not there all pretty tough in normal day to day use! Just a matter of taste when all said and done!

The CASIO A168 is a classic design, and way better than the plastic version I have with regards to looks, but the DW-291H is really a G-Shock in disguise of a G-Shock... brilliant watch, and if anyone says it's poop, works for TIMEX LML :-P

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman I have an A168YES. I thought as a real Casio fan I must own one. But to be honest, it is way too small and the the case is so sensitive, it gets scratches from every touch. I would not buy one of these again. What I like about the DW-291H is that the small display shows an analog clock in every mode. In the case of this watch it's better than playful animations. Really smart and useful. That's why I like Casio so much.

@@MartinLuetzelberger I like the small CASIO's, but for me, they're just a little bland and the size makes them lost on my wrist, so this DW-291H is the bigger brother.. it's really a G-Shock without it being mentioned... the sub-dial is a lovely touch, as that will always show the home time regardless :)) The 1 time alarms are very handy, as the amount of times I hear alarms going off in my case, reminds me of the crickets I used to feed my Watch Dragon, which gets you looking in all hours LML :-P

The yellow-ish tint on this one is what I wanted on DW-5600 at its price. But nope... The review was and still is a top-notch. In my opinion, AEs are more honest option on a tight budget. They do not pretend to be a g-shock, HD or whatever, and the same functionality is available too. According to previous reviews that I've watched, the four screws in the front are functional. They allow you to remove the bezel and mode its colorway, for example. 200M water resistance, but I doubt it is legit if you push a button underwater (Mr. Crazy has a community post about this matter - frogman is explicitly certified for operation the buttons underwater, but this watch is a completely different... frog), and these big and sticking buttons on DW-291H are just begging to be pushed... by accident. In addition, I don't know for what reason CASIO keeps the raised bezel (protecting the glass) as a premium feature for g-shocks... It is a strange discrimination on the basis of a less than a 1.0 g of plastic added matter to the construction.

Cheers for sharing the bezel screws content, and that would make sense :) The buttons do need a press, they're not sensitive, but if you're playing golf, then yes, they can be pressed... unless you're a bad golfer LML :-P Pressing buttons under water isn't needed, unless it's a feature that's needed underwater... the GWF-D1000 has a few features that need button presses under water, and as the depth sensor is till 80mtrs, then pressing at 80mtrs is safe. If buttons are knocked while under water, then in my opinion being that 200m is a lot of pressure, then I can't see this being an issue, and i'm sure if you tested a 200m G-Shock to the level of Diver's iSO, I would imagine it could pass... the testing procedures are involving with Diver's watches, and this adds costs, and that's why you see many 200m micro brand watches that aren't indicated with Diver's, as this just bulks the prices, and they're already enough. I'm sure someone has made some 3D bezels for the DW-291H :))) Cheers for the support as always my friend, always great to read your comments :))

I'm such a tease with that video... I believe a Marlin is a fast fish! But that aside, Casio should have capitalised on the Marlin as a brand, as they have with G. Your customers make you Casio. It would be good to remember that sometimes.

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman by the way sir. I'm an out of this "world" Casio fan. My first being recieved in 1980. The Casio C-80. Followed by the Marlin, & dozens more. Don't want to bore you. Being a fan for so long, I can't help thinking Casio has lost its way creatively. They were much more adventurous in the 80,s. I had some real rare beauties. Many white watches, running, Jogging, sports timers, thermometer watches, pulse sensor, you name it! I even have a Lotto watch, which generates random numbers. Its known as a Casio Lotta luck. There were even Casio Melody watches, & games. Now, we have a mass of G-shocks, & a thousand other variations of the same thing. Oh! & the F91W. Its a bit like the films, & the music industry these days, formulatic same as.

I did not need this watch at all as I have already 20 watches in my collection. However, this particular model has definitely locked my attention towards it. I absolutely admire it's practicality and eye catching appearance. I may as well purchase both the one in this video along with the one with the silvered bezel. As a side note, your exceptionally detailed and informative description of its features was absolutely astonishing. All I can think of is the design which is related to Tom Cruise, but for me it must be the Auto backlight feature that adds more to the price. In terms of style, this is very unique and iconic especially when it has been on an Impossible Mission, but the mission is always possible LML :-P

I a a casio collector l ove my g shocks l love all the other casios l have to including the DW-219H but lso love the smaller ones to and l would love to know the model no. Of the smaller blue and pink one that you were so contemptuos of obviously you arent a real casio lover or you wouldn’t have treated the smaller one so rudely you can review a watch without bein g contemptous of another l wiuld love to have that small one in my collection as lve never seen it before but apart from that l liked your review just consider peoples feelings. about their casios a bit more nex time(if there is a next time)……..the winged griffin Sydney

Hey buddy... to be very honest, who's going to take any watch to a true 200m depth??... but there's more to it... in general G-Shocks are tested in batches, unless the Frogman's which are individually tested, as they are true Diver's rated watches which have to perform to an iSO rating. Mostly all G-Shocks are rated to 200m (a few are at 100m but these are older models) so this means the watch is designed for more adventurous conditions in the water. Swimming in a pool isn't going beyond a few meters, but if you were to dive from a 3mtr diving board, then the force of water on the watch will increase, and this is why 200m has been chosen. If you wear your watch when water skiing or jet skiing, falling off at a decent speed has a water surface impact load, and the force of water hitting the buttons increases. So depending how you use your watch, 100m tested is plenty on casual swims and water activities. Most watch jewellers that replace batteries and service watches, will have a pressure testing machine that can test 200m. With the smaller shops that replace batteries and cut keys, these can usually test to 50m. Depending on the age of the G-Shock, replacing the case back gasket using silicon will give that water tightness, but over the years, the O-rings in the button shafts will need replacing, so if you're wanting to use the watch in water all the time, then having it fully checked is important, or use another watch like this DW-291H that's cheap and is rated to 200m new.
