Can't find the titanium one like you have here in the video but they do have the blue one with the resin strap which looks pretty good too.... currently I used a non-connected protrek for my backpacking the 340 to and honestly it's my daily driver right now which is good but I'm looking for a more fishing oriented one and this seems to fill the bill😂... anyways thanks for the video and your time😎✌️

Thanks for the comment, you should be able to find these in titanium on eBay or Chrono24. Worth the hunt.

Very helpful video, I had no idea what the Slope function was on my PRT-B70. I now own nine Pro Treks total. The PRT-B70 black, PRG-340-1 black, PRG-340-3 green, PRG-340T-7 titanium bracelet, PRW-30AE-2 blue strap, PRW-30-5 tan strap, PRG-30B red nylon strap, PRW-3500, and a PRG-270 which was my very first Pro Trek watch. I also noticed that the first seven models I listed having the 23mm watch straps with quick disconnect pins are interchangeable on these watches, even the titanium bracelet.

And that adds to great versatility. Casio could capitalize on the quick change with releasing and marketing straps! Nice collection Richard!

I got the PRT-B70 with resin band in 2020. It's a great watch. It's very similar in function to my G-Shock mudmaster GGB100 with same WR rating. Great video.

Isn't this watch pretty much the Mudmaster GBB100, Gravitymaster GRB200, and ProTrek PRT-B50 with some fishing features and without the almost proprietary G-Shock watch strap (for the G-Shock watches)?
@DougFNJ2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been feeling the lines between Protreks and G-Shocks are drawing closer. The Protreks are getting stronger, the G-Shocks are getting more features.

@@DougFNJ, just FYI, Amazon has the blue resin version of the B70 for just over 150 USD right now and the black version is 180.

@@DougFNJ, I've always liked the Pro Trek watches. Especially their ana-digi models. The PRG-600/650 have always been favorites. The PRW-6000 series has come down considerably lately, too. Amazon has the 6600y in black or blue for 250 USD right now. The one that has really peaked my interest lately are the Edifice watches. I've always been an Eco-Drive fan, and the Edifice reminds me of the Promaster A-T watches in many ways and surpasses the technology in the Citizen Promaster watches.

I'd love to find out if there exists a similar metal bracelet that could be used with one of the cheaper resin band models.

Write to Casio, I know they make a variety of resin bracelets for different G-Shocks.

How to use rotating bezel? Second thing, why that watch has no hiking features like model lower part b50, in altimeter with bottom right of you hold it you can see there blink option, in prt b50 if I good informed it is to create orientation point.

In ALLOT of ways I love this watch. Its the most full functioned ABC watch for the price Casio makes. I own the Blue version and I like it allot. I have some issues with it though. - I got it for an insane price considering watch other Protreks and Gshocks I own but it does NOT HAVE SOLAR. I would have gladly paid more for this watch to be Solar. - I wish the bezzel ratched. Another thing i would have paid more for. - Its too thick. Protreks are great Gshock alternatives because they are usually thinner.Alternatively people say "well its ONLY 100m WR". So what? I fish plenty with my Protreks and unless you are going deep sea spear fishing or something I wouldn't worry about it. Ill taje thinner, which is why I wish it was. I'd also scrafice the rotating bezzel if it was thinner cause honestly having a rotating bezzel is only something you use to set a compass bearing on the watch and other casio watches have gotten around that with other methods. - The fishing function is mostly for salt water ocean fishing. The tide info is only usefull on very large fresh water lakers I find. - You can only setup fishing locations using the app. I'm sorry but that limits the collectability and self life of the watch. The second that blutooth version becomes incompatible with your phone you loose allot of fishing features on the watch. Thankfully you can find great deals on these watches but it is a concern. Now I can live with most of those things but damn I wish the watch was solar. I find that insanely useful when you start to own a few watches and I'm sorry two year batteries suck. IF you only have one or two watches its OK but I love the utility Solar watches offer. So much so I've stared thinning out battery only quartz watches out of my collection. I love the Blutooth on the watch though. If your travelling it makes the watch so much easier to use. Bare none Casio Blue tooth makes other GMT watches look like a joke when it comes to telling time when crossing time zones.
@DougFNJ3 жыл бұрын
You bring up great points. I wish Casio would use solar on all of them. They last forever. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the Bluetooth compatibility. Newer versions of Bluetooth are always backward compatible with previous versions.
@traviswalker89332 жыл бұрын
Casio is usually conservative with battery life on their watches. If you don't use all features everyday then you can expect an extended battery life.
@teddyjordan82662 жыл бұрын
Does it withstand rapid and tough wrist movements and vibrations?
@DougFNJ2 жыл бұрын
I would trust a Quartz over a mechanical for that. But if you are planning on getting really rough while wearing a watch, G-Shock is made for that.
@teddyjordan82662 жыл бұрын
@@DougFNJ G Shock per se isn't tough enough against vibrations unless it states so. The top products in the line are even marked with "Triple G" branding. I don't understand how an outdoors watch like PROTREK FISHING is not produced in the same way taking into consideration that the watch's operating environment is not just rough mechanical wise but even exposes the watch to all kinds of dirt and mud elements! It hence even lacks the "Mudman/Mudmaster" branding!

What’s the difference with 7CR vs 7DR?
@sovereign_shadowquester3 жыл бұрын
Nice Watch, I'd choose one of these over a smart watch any day. In a grid down situation like the Tornado damage in Kentucky. A smart watch is unlikely to function. Just like ham radio it doesn't rely on infrastructure to work properly.
@DougFNJ3 жыл бұрын
Protrek has always been great for its sensors and tech. Only thing is, from a communication standpoint, the smartwatch is handy.

So I know the main differences between the PRT-B70 and PRT-B50 are 100m versus 200m and the 70 has the fishing stuff. Does the 50 have anything that the 70 doesn't and are there any other differences?
@DougFNJ2 жыл бұрын
Those are the big differences. To me, that 200M Water resistance is big as it closes the gap a little tighter with G-Shocks
@profiler2702 жыл бұрын
@@DougFNJ Yeah, it closes the gap with G-Schock but totally negligible since no one will go swim at 100 meters or 200 meters with this kind of watch, Solar powered feature in this case would be more interesting...
