Paladins player count is actually more than what is shown on steam, Because the game has a separate launcher you could find on their website, A lot of people use that same goes for every Hi-rez game.

I play garden warfare 2 quite often. And now and then I go to the original garden warfare it’s still really active. Hope the series stays that way. Edit: Why have I only just gotten notifications for comments here one year later. Also, I know of BFN's existence, I purchased it day one of founder's and I'm sick of the game in its current state. I only hope it gets better.

As someone who played paladins for almost 2 years and making content for it for almost a year I can say the game had much better days. But we are going in a good direction now all the game really. Needs now is polish and quality of life changes and I'm sure with the correct advertising the game could expand its player base rapidly. Really enjoyed the video cause I too originate from TF2 :D

It truly is a tragedy how Overwatch’s release contributed to the brutal murder of Battleborn. Even though Paladins did well and is still doing well, I feel like releasing all those similar games in the same time frame kinda only contributed to lower numbers in general. *Why didn't I mention these games in part 1?* The first video wasn't intended to be a complete list of games, but it was a collection of games I have personal experience with and which I observed the teases, releases and (in some cases) deaths of, so I focused on those specifically because I felt I could represent their stories well given the fact I was there as their stories were written, so to speak. *Why am I covering these games in part 2?* Just check out the comments on part 1 - A LOT of people wanted to see them mentioned! I didn't follow the stories of these games as closely as those in part 1, so I wasn't able to talk as organically about them as the others. However, I spent a solid amount of time researching and chatting to those who do know these games before I sat down to script and edit the video together, so hopefully things are accurate and relevant. *Will there be a part 3?* I have no plans to make a part 3. If there are enough suggested games which make sense to cover then it's possible, but there were no other games mentioned in the comments to part 1 anywhere near as much as these 3, so I don't expect so. Thank you everyone for your support on this mini-series! Something to remember about Paladins also is that it isnt just on the steam launcher, many people (like me) use the standard Hi Rez client not through Steam so actual player numbers for that game are higher than steam charts suggest.

The game seems pretty alive based on player numbers and it's of course a pretty legendary franchise, so I'm sure there's an interesting story to be told. Might make a good video combined with LawBreakers as those two games also competed with each other. I'm not making any promises, but I'm not ruling it out either!

Yeah, the only 2 modes I can play these days are gardens and graveyards or Garden ops, if I try anything else I join an empty lobby waiting for players that never show up, i'm glad how it works, certain characters do well in certain places, Engineers wanna stick near the teleporter and sentries, Scientists wanna be up close to make use of their shotgun like damage while also staying with the team, the soldier and peashooter will wanna use their abilities to gain high ground and snipe, and so much more

When looking at player counts, you didn't take in count that many paladins players play from the HiRez stand-alone launcher so those players don't show up on steam. The game is also on all consoles, even the switch. It has a hero-shooter monopoly on the switch becuase it is the only hero shooter there, so it's actually doing a lot better than you know. That combined the very old footage you showedm I think it deserves to be mentioned in part 3 if there is one.

@DrIvanRadosivic yes having to manage reloading and ammo management is increasing the skill cap as ammo management is now a thing.tracer had a much higher skill cap than koga for the simple reason that she needs to make every shots in her clips actually matter as missing them will increase her time to kill by seconds while koga passively renerates ammo on top of ammo while already having more ammo than tracer in the first place.

Garden Warfare has possibly the best TPS map of all time, Cactus Canyon. Every character has their place on the map: The Peashooters use their super pea jump to ambush from the cliffs, the Cactus use the very open landscape to easily pick off unsuspecting Zombies, it’s truly fun.

It’s feels weird hearing you talk about Garden Warfare. I remember first playing when released. The servers were full. It’s kinda of a shame how when a match ends it’s half full and takes bit for the game to get full. The characters are awesome :D I wish the game would get more updates though :(

(my favourite game of all time is TF2, my most played game is Paladins and i love it and i played my fair share of Overwatch and love its artstyle) I liked your video as you're honest, put the "overwatch copy" bs away and actually look at the game, but i must ask; why didn't you record your own gameplay? I understand you don't want to wait for hours and hours on end to find a BB match or buy a AAA game to just make a video, but you could've extremely easily downloaded and played a few Paladins matches, or at least shown recent gameplay. Your video is litteraly titled "Where are they NOW?", why do you show year-old footage with champions that have been completely reworked (such as Torvald), with gamemodes that have been removed (payload) in updates that are year old? I swear you could've just wrote "Paladins 1.7 Gameplay" or 1.6 if your video is that old on youtube and put that instead of that footage.

Battleborn I i remember having one of the most unfortunately timed release windows ever. Its open beta launched around the same time as Doom 2016, and its actual release was overshadowed by Overwatch's public beta. Being sandwiched right in between the year's most popular shooters was a death sentence from the word go.

I love Garden Warfare, tbh. Mostly because of how fun playing the Chomper was, or some of the OP Plant Types like the Agent Pea or the Camo Ranger being super fun to play. I don’t like the Sequel tho.

The sequel isn’t as balanced as the first game, but I still enjoy destroying plants with the Mechs and Torchwood. The first game is awesome. My favourite character variant is the standard Foot Soldier, it’s so accurate and the rapid fire rate pays off well. I also enjoy the Peashooter and Camo Ranger too. I’m around rank 180 and have the game for Xbox 360.

Gigantic was also pretty inspired by TF2, and it was really good. It honestly deserves its own mention, it is dead now with developers discontinuing development and servers being shut down. Was one of my favorite game ever

I would like to point out that the Paladins gameplay is really old, even if the game hasn't changed much. They removed payload, added TONS of champions and really cool skins and emotes. For the next time try getting a rather new gameplay, to show the true form of the game ;) Sinceresly, a dedicated Paladins player.

@@acegarr22 There were 2 different gamemodes, payload and siege. Payload was that in 2 rounds, one team had to defend and the other team had to defend the payload, then they switched sides (Like in TF2) But Siege is somewhat similar, yet not the same. Imagine Siege is like KOTH in TF2, but when a team captures the point, a payload will appear, and it will have to be taken to the enemy's side of the map. Payload and Siege are 2 different gamemodes. Yeah, they have their similarities, but the strategies and the feeling when playing is different in both gamemodes.

Oh oh Battleborn. The game that I was kind of excited for although cautiously so. The close alpha showed potential, but was ultimately quite messy. My biggest gripe back then was the super messy UI, dodgy performance and horrible balance and map design was pretty awful too. It was too easy to get caught up in the base by campers and most matches were always far too one sided. Come the betas, they fixed performance, but everything else was a mess. I wrote them pretty detailed feedback on the closed alpha forums way back and many agreed on those points, but they were never even looked into or commented upon. Later we thought they would implement some fun physX shenanigans, but that also didn't become a thing. Pre-launch beta was out and I gave it one more whirl, only to find basically nothing changed aaand that's when I knew that I wouldn't be buying the game. The PvE component had potential too, but ultimately felt pretty off. The guns had no punch, the abilities were lackluster and most of the dialogue was just pure cringe. Shame that the game had SO MUCH potential, but the ultimate reason for its death was the lack of communication AND the lack of changes to any direction after so much feedback. Sure the release window was awful too, but they basically drove away all the people who were originally interested in it with all that who then spread the word of mouth that its not going to be worth it "get overwatch instead" is what everyone including me said.

I play overwatch and paladins, and I can asure anyone who is thinking about picking Paladins up is that paladin is 10x more fun than overwatch, the 1 thing that anyone probably will agree is that overwatch's art and overall design is better.

@@wesleydm1999 Comparing the skins between the two games in no contest, really. Overwatch's 'epic' skins is like a Paladin's 'rare', and we barely get those anymore! Paladins keeps pumping out epics (and with 1.8, legendaries) like bunnies. It's a pity they don't give skins to more than the same four champions every patch. I main support, but Seris, Ying, and Jenos have way too many skins, especially when you compare their skin selection to that of Willo, Kinessa, and Terminus.

When i was 7 i got the full game and i completed the game like 3 days. Garden Warfare 2 was a great time. I feel like the both the original and the sequel have major differences, like the quality of level design in the maps, while more ambitious, creative and interesting ultimately kind of missed the point of gw1's more laid back campy feel it gave, being more based on familiar shooters' level design. and same with the new characters, both visually and mechanically, but they don't ruin the game, they're both really good shooters for what they came from, and are still alive and receiving updates, packs, rewards and active development. Yeah, surprising how an EA triple a shooter wasn't cynically filled with microtransactions, buggy or a 5/10 game. Thanks for covering it, it's rather obscured these days but it's really good.

It saddens me that Battleborn suffered the major blow it did. A friend of mine had it shortly after it released, and we both spent HOURS playing it. And we LOVED it. The characters were quirky and would constantly banter with each other. The gameplay was challenging but not impossible. The whole experience was intriguing. Then Overwatch comes along, straight up MURDERS it, and shoves it down a hill. As much as I know this will probably never happen, I really hope someone, whether another company or an independent developer, gives Battleborn a much-needed revival. It didn't get the love it deserved.

I used to love playing plants vs zombies garden warfare and got #2 as soon as it came out. For some reason though, it was almost unplayable on pc for me. Every time I tried to play it I'd end up so glitched I could barely move with bad connection and ping, but on every other game I'd have no issue. It was always pretty fun though.
