These are my thoughts on how TF2 has captured me for 3200 hours. I really hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please like the video to show support. If it resonated with you, share it with a non-tf2 player to keep this amazing game going. Everyone deserves to play a bit of TF2 if you ask me
I now have a Patreon! / lazypurple
SMALL disclaimer that I couldn't really fit in the video: this video is not meant to bash heavy and pyro. I personally love using the flamethrower and minigun, but they are inherently less interactive than the rest of the weapons. Heavy and Pyro's playstyles have more to do with positioning than dueling. They just don't fit the theme I talk about in this video. However, it should be noted that Pyro and Heavy did launch with shotguns as secondaries, so you could argue that they have always lowkey had a single-fire weapon as part of their kit
Also, I play on a lot of no-crit servers lol, random crits can mess up what I talk about in this video.
I am determined to continue making high-quality content. Catch me as I upload it by following me on my new Twitter: / lazyandpurple
or join my Steam group: steamcommunity.com/groups/Lazy...
Thanks based FUNKe for the voice cameo. / mtvnoob

This video would not have been possible without the extremely helpful SFM community. Discussion by power users like r234, pte jack, and raptornx01 was a great help. The green screen map can be found here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
The space backgrounds were created by: AA VFX, Amitai Angor , / dvdangor2011
Check him out, his work is really good.
Thanks so much to Serket for artistic contributions like the arrows channel logo/banner. Also for the awesome SUPPORT

TF2 is literally a time machine back to 2012. Nowhere else on the internet can you find people who: -still use Lennie Faces -complain about F2Ps -complain about W+M1 -laugh at pootis It's truly a beautiful specimen.

I feel like they could find a way, especially now that Half life Alyx is out and many of valve's developers are since freed to add ways to incorporate the soundtrack beyond just the bootup screen and match victory/ loss moments, because think how much cooler the game would be if like minecraft, the soundtrack responded in real time, so maybe a spy gets a god like killstreak and you hear "right behind you" slowly fade in. I get the game is 15 years old at this point but even that would breath much more life into the game.

Great video, I loved the animations and editing. I took maybe 10 years off of TF2 and was amazed to see it has more players today, in 2022, then when I played it when it came out part of The Orange Box. Also, not sure why people would bother with casual matchmaking and bots when it's had tons of custom servers with quick spawn for 15 years. They're always fun.

Gmod skits were the ones that brought me into the game. Although I didn't have a computer at the time, I remember just watching through all the Gmod animations that has TF2 content, especially the late Kitty0706's videos. It's funny how this game even after those years, and despite not being formally in the game prior to first discovering it, was still special to me. Valve created another timeless piece of art to add their collection once again.

I got to know TF2 in September 2020, I wanted to play my first older F2P PC game, and it was TF2. What I didn't expect after playing Team Fortress 2, was what I was playing was a magnificent experience, after that I started watching the Meet the Team videos to get to know the classes, then I started exploring the Team Fortress Universe, I started playing the Mods(Pre-Fortress 2, Team Fortress 2 Classic and Open Fortress). You're right, 9 classes easy to understand, based on ways to attack opponents, Team Fortress 2 (2007) is TIMELESS, inspiring 3D cartoon games like Overwatch (2016) and popularizing the Heroshooter genre (each character with a specific ability and teamwork to get what you want).

The year is 2022 and a name is whispered amid the halls of gaming communities everywhere. “Abandoned…old…dead” they say. Yet others have never heard of it; being too young to remember the time when it stood at the peak. It is a game out of place, a glimpse into an older era, a relic of its time. In an era of rushed development and yearly releases, of battle royales, and of esports it still reigns as the king of its genre. A game that took nine long years to make and one that will take much longer to die. Other games tried to dislodge it, cheaters and bot swarmers tried to kill it, and even its creators barely acknowledge it anymore. It has been 1,548 days since the last major update; over four years of small bug fixes and hat updates. Yet the community stands strong. The player count has reached all time highs. The bots reduced to a nuisance instead of the omnipresent threat they were before. The game lives and it will continue to live. Because Team Fortress 2 is truly a timeless masterpiece.

It's so strange that after almost 14 years, this game still has a strong community. Just yesterday, I was playing a normal casual game and a heavy on the other team was doing the conga all alone. So I joined him. Then someone else did. Then another. Then another. And before I knew it, about 10 other players were doing the conga with us. Then we all stood around one of the statues dedicated to Rick May and paid our respects. I sat playing the bongos while others saluted. I have no doubt that this community will get through the current bot situation and come out strong.

This is related to character design. Each of the classes must look, sound and feel unique in every way possible. Thus, their appearances were designed specifically to have different silhouettes, postures, animations and stand-out features (Engineer is missing a bright glove, Pyro has two dark gloves). i’ve always like shooters, and the sniper class/weapon has always been my go to. in every other game i’ve played whenever there is another sniper on the enemy team, it just felt like a battle between me and them. But when i play tf2, i imagine it as training instead, like the other teams sniper is my personal trainer and im just there to get better and have fun ❤

My favourite MTT video was meet the medic the idea of playing as a crazed megalomaniac doctor that can in the push of a button then taking your comrades to the point and then destroying the enemies now that you’ve won and then a few years later i fell in love with these videos that made me want the game even more then a few years after I got my gaming pc then the first game I installed was Team fortress 2

another huge thing about tf2 is they don't introduce new characters, just new weapons so there isn't a huge roster of characters to pick from/ characters that overshadow others

Because the amount of characters arent so saturated, every character feels very special and essential, and so they all have time to develop their characters so well. Remember quality over quantity, just like this video.

3 players literally in a row in front of me, a helpless cornered Engineer in Dustbowl above the tunnel exits: *dies by one wrench random crit after another.* Does this happen anymore? I only killed 3 enemies in a row like that one other time. I thought both times were in the Xbox 360 version, but maybe it was only the first time when I was a Sniper with a Machete in 2Fort.

Mr. purple I have wanted tf2 for half of my life, and only recently have I decided to finally make a steam account and download tf2, despite my horrible computer and my one awful experience with bots in a casual server, it’s all I imagined it to be, some of my earliest memories of this game was watching the sfm, the gmod animations, a couple of your videos, I would like to thank you for helping me get so invested in this game

That's how valve games are. Very few of them become truly dated, especially the ones on the source engine. Sadly, that's probably also why they barely release anything anymore. Why continue a franchise when the latest entry is still going strong and making cash after a literal decade?

@@thegunnitgamer5716 I really wish TF2 was more optimized and had more graphical settings, but other than that, it's a masterpiece of a game. what other game would make someone dump 100's of dollars for virtual hats, dances, and particle effects?
