James Harrison it was beautiful well modernized country before 1991, it was known as the Switzerland of Africa and the capital Mogadishu was known as the white pearl of the Indian Ocean. Somalia has the longest coastline in mainland Africa with the most beautiful beaches. If it was peaceful right now it would’ve been a tourist heaven like old days but sadly none of the regional countries wants that to never happen again. But we will finally win against our geopolitical enemies.

Horumarka Dalka Yh but that's the thing If you look through history It was somalis who built Mogadishu It was somali people who traded as far as medievalist Ming china It was somali people who established trade with Indians, Persians, Arabs etc the Ajuran somali Empire was the only hydraulic empire in Africa. Somali people were the first people to defeat a European power in Africa Somali vs Portuguese empire Somali navy defeated Portuguese empire who were known for their extreme naval strength Look at all of this And you know that right now somalia is just suffering because of mistakes made by stupid people We can make it great again but we have to seriously get rid of tribalism

Somalia should focus on rebuilding itself rather than living in the past, of colonial borders and clan representation. All the people want is a better future, the somalis in kenya and ethiopia are living much better and safer life there, so claiming land is not the solution. They should as well abolish clanism and adopt a federal system of governance as a substitute to accelerate their country's economic growth. Make peace, not war.
@danielk72257 жыл бұрын
Arasky I agree with you 21%. most African nations are poor largely due to colonialism and weak democracies. I know Somalia will surely rise again...but with the geopolitical technicalities that come along with a greater Somalia, I can say with confidence that a greater somalia is a pipe-dream. It's wise to build what you have first, then seek greatness later.
@danielk72257 жыл бұрын
again I know that kenya and ethiopia want a stable and peaceful region(which works for everybody's interests). Thats why they gave their soldiers (even despite having many casualties in the ensuing war) to somalia to help fight al shabaab. Otherwise they could just have protected their own borders from intrusion. Give credit where it is deserved brother.

Daniel K lol u do know Ethiopia is highly suspected of funding alshabab hahaha which is not a suprise considering it's In their interest along with Kenya to have a destabilised Somalia since a strong Somalia like the one in the 70s means irrendentist policies and somalis wanting to retake their territory in both countries inhabited by ethnic somalis which was the cause of the 1977 ogadem war..and not to mention Ethiopia being landlocked, a weak Somalia means easy access to their numerous ports btw Somalia has the longest coastline on mainland Africa ..so there are many reasons for these countries to have a weak Somalia ..Their involvement in Somalia is merely a charade as they have their own geopolitical interests at heart..One thing is certain..at one point Somalia will stabilise and return to pre-civil war levels ..Once they do that they have the resources to develop at a fast rate and catch up to other regional economies. .with such prosperity they will undoubtedly reassume their irrendentist policies of wanting to retake their territories in Ethiopia and Kenya either diplomatically or militarily. .that's inevitable..as long as somalis exist and the country is stable and they aren't dealing with other problems like terrorism,foreign interference,disunity amongst themselves..They will always end up wanting their lands back and at one point it will lead to another war believe me..I hope I'm alive so I can support it by joining the army or govt amiin ya rabbal alamiin

To my brothers Somali; beware of the gift bearer. Foreign intervention is a poisonous assistance.
@arthas6404 жыл бұрын
Foreign intervention CAN be good if well executed and if the removal of the leader will actually improve the country. The US invasion of Grenada was a good intervention, as were some of the Soviet liberation of Eastern Europe (the soviets were bad but better than Hitler in areas like Poland), and the interventions by the Allies in Western Europe during WW2 as well. Japan was improved by the invasion in WW2. Afghanistan was a shit show but it did improve their country since the Taliban were terrible. The first invasion of Iraq was necessary in preventing Saddams wars of aggression in places like Kuwait and Iran, but the second war was a mixed bag. Many of the Soviet and American interventions in South America were a mess though. The key is you have to have a necessary reason to intervene, the intervention has to be carried out to improve the country, you need clear goals before hand, you have to follow up any intervention (rebuild infrastructure, help establish a fair government, etc.), the locals need to oppose the leadership, and you cant just carry out the war for your own reasons.

I think most are interesting once you dig into their histories, it's a major reading project of mine in the future. I'm British so I'm first of all trying to connect with my own nation's history (the history taught to me in school was severely lacking), but once I've done enough of that I want to explore the history of the world, firstly by looking at the British Empire and then by looking at the histories of the places that became part of the British Empire, specifically India and the British parts of Africa. It's so obvious that it never gets said and so no-one remembers it but while your country was having its history other places were having their histories, everywhere in the world has a history, but because you can never teach it all most people will only learn about the history of wherever they're from because that's what their school system prioritises. Although some school systems don't even do that very well.

*The Somali people are people who speak the language of the Pharaohs, a Cushitic language; and who still share many of those cultural traits and articles (Was scepter = hangool...). They were the first Africans, to make contact with China in trade as well as skirmishes. They were also able to defeat the Portuguese Navy at the height of its power, in an area where they were especially interested in, looking for that ancient Saint Prester John. They were also the first to be attacked with airplanes in all of Africa; after dislodging the British colonialists* *They have been trading for many generations as far as China. Along the coast there are grave sites with Chinese porcelain dishware inlaid into the grave headstones.* *There were even trading expeditions from ancient Egypt and queen Hatshepsut.into this land which was then called the land of Punt - some 5,000 years ago. Being second only to ancient Egypt in the age of cities in all of Africa predating many European cities such as London (or ancient londinium) by as much as a 1000 years. Never very populous, but very ancient.* Today our problem is with some few resentful shortsighted separatists, who are sureptitiously supporting extremist groups and terrorists.

@thewhizkid39374 жыл бұрын
Maybe want to drop out I don't know if you are like me, but it was not until the third year when i figured out the lie of college or university. So I would call to gain information on my loans for instance right and the person on the other end told me that interest on the loans increased every year. I was already looking at 3 to 4 % interest rate, which is high enough. That is how they get everyone in debt and trap them. The biggest scam in American History, if you ask me, but they don't warn nor tell you about any of this. You grow up to realize that it might have been better to have never step foot onto a college or university campus and just began work. But easy mathematics can solve a lot of that problem. Just lower the interest rate(s). And as for a work is concerned. A lot of the jobs anyone applies to or for do not even require a college or university degree. I have read many of the requirements from several numerous employers. So why not just say this to students who are in high school ? And not push the envelope of pursuing a college degree ? Because then, people would not feel as if they have been deceived in any way by the same principals, teachers and administrators who are and were supposed to be properly advising them in the first place ? Also they also never or do not tell you that you will be harrassed to make monthly payments. Thanks... And on the topic of the medical world. A magnetic resonance image or scanning is no more than $500. I mean, just think about. The medical facilities are supposed to be providing a service. But I was away at James Madison University for a minimum of two years and from experience, it is not worth it. All I got out of it was a psychological disorder, which I needed to go to therapy for. And going back to the cost of an MRI. At that affordable price. No one would need these insurance cards and the insurance companies will be out of business. That is just an analysis.

Who the hell is "we", though? This is blatant nonsense being espoused by Somalis who are ignorant about their own history to put together any informed and constructive reasons for why the Somali nation should exist. Firstly, Somalia is an inherently colonial project, even the name comes from the colonial name given to it by the Italians: Italia Somalia. Secondly, the notion of a unified Somali state that encompasses all Somalis, regardless of where they live, is, again, an idea that was imported from Europe and has no intellectual roots, as far as I am aware, in Somali history. Somalis have always been separated into small groups mainly on the grounds of clan allegiances. Very rarely would you see empires and sultanates that extended beyond the realm of its own clans. However, even in such instances the empire or sultanate would have been ruled by a specific clan and never was there anything remotely comparable to any such notions of a unified Somali state. Thirdly, the destruction of Somalia is an inherent consequence of its narrow-minded desire to pursue the policy of Somaliweyn (greater Somalia). If anything, European imperialism was great for Somalia - as opposed to other African states - because it set in place the intellectual roots that would eventually allow for the tree of Somalia to grow. Thanks to Somali backwardness, it evolved into a corrupt, diseased and deformed tree; giving birth to equally corrupt, diseased and deformed fruits. Lastly, though my analysis of what you say is harsh, and that of Somalia, I only do it because I am a firm believer in establishing progress through a robust framework of self-criticism. Blatant historical falsehoods and self-pity leave no room for the robust structure of self-criticism that Somalia, and Somalis, need if they wish to create a healthy tree that shades all our people.
