About the henna, there is no "fake" henna that leaves you with green hair UNLESS it's henna indigo used on bleached hair or when you have bleached the henna indigo dyed hair. Indigo is from barrow indigo (Indigofera Tinctoria) leafes and its pigment is black with blue undertone, it is used for those mixed that are supposed to be brown dyes, when natural henna leaves you with a foxy red color. Same as natural henna (Lawsonia inermis L.), it's a herb used to give the hair some color without damaging it BUT as all herbs used to hair care, it can turn the hair brassy. That's why people with more delicate hair should use it with MOISTURE like flax seeds gel or a humectant conditioner. The natural henna IS permanent, because in contrast to a box dye, which only surrounds the cuticle, it's molecule actually bindes with it and that's why it makes the hair so healthy, thick and shiny but still it can be washed out when the hair is really damaged and the cuticle is very torn, cause it's harder for it to strap at first. When the product has a henna extract, it can be semi- or demi-pernament, cause it function is a little bit different than a true herb. Hope that I helped a little! Love ya 💕

I watched this video and immediately ordered the Surya Brasil henna cream in light brown. I have very stubborn grays around my hairline and was skeptical that this was going to work. I kept the henna cream on for 90 minutes and it COMPLETELY COVERED MY GRAY! I'm impressed. Yes, this is more time than a typical box dye (you have to shampoo your hair, towel dry it, then apply the henna, then rinse it out) but so worth it. I typically have to go to the salon to get my roots done every 3 weeks. Now I'll be using this instead. Impressively, this did not cover my highlights--just the grays. Fingers crossed it also helps out with brassiness. Thank you Cassandra!!!

I'm a big fan of Surya and used the henna for several years, primarily to cover grays on my temples. In fact, I've never used any other henna or chemical dyes. ( I've always liked the color and texture of my hair.) And then about 2 years ago, I noticed that I was getting bald patches along my hairline. So I researched it... and saw that others using Surya henna were experiencing the same thing. I stopped using Surya henna, and I'm glad to say my hair has grown back in its same natural thickness and strength. I'm definitely glad about that but sadly disappointed about Surya.

I dont want to be annoying but as a haircare freak I just cant sit silent when this hair dye is being called henna. Henna is a really nice plant (Lawsonia) that when usued in a right way (the tutorials on the site you linked - cringe) can give you a nice reddish undertone that you can build up to a true red. There are no other colors of henna. You can try different plants - cassia for golden tones, indigo for black (but remember that you cant bleach indigo oraz any other plant coloring mixes that contains indigo cause your hair will turn green). The INCI of coloring plant mixes are extremely simple - for example you could check italian brand phitophilos. This plants are also great because they make your hair stronger and thicker oversize time - there are a lot of studies about it. Hope I wasnt as annoying as I imagine 😅

Cassandra Bankson I really enjoyed your view of the Products and your thoughts on Dr.Dray. I have just found your channel. Been a loyal devoted follower of Dr.Dray for years her advice and skin care recommendations has given me the skin I never thought I'd own. Stay safe Cassandra. Kind regards from Ireland Kate. 👱♀️💕

Always love your cute and goofy energy combined with your love of science. Great to hear what worked for you and I get the sunscreen need in the summer. The fiance and I have got our new SUP (inflatable standup paddle board) and the sun is not going to stop this human fish from spending time on it. We live for SPF (and hats of course)
